Quick quick quick quick quick!!!! Need suggestions for which is the best hotel to go for in hurried Dreddcon 'haven't even got a ticket yet' moment!!!
I'll even buy the most helpfulist person a drink!!!
Eurobar!
Eurobar if you're sharing a double. Otherwise, the local Posthouse is ?60 per night... but about 10 mins bus/cab from the venue.

How much is the Eurobar for a double for two nights?
80 squid a night
Ouch.
Okay, so if I were to come along for just one night, which night should that be? Friday or Saturday?
friday
you can sleep on the train back (unless you are driving)
Shedcon is friday.

I'm staying at the same place as John Wagner, well away from all the oiks.....uuuuh, I mean, 'loyal readers'... ;->
where are you staying?
I'd set off now Mike if you want to make last orders
i'm sure i got quoted a cheaper rate for eurobar...
yipes i better work another 27 hour shift tho just in case...
"I'm two hours away from Leicester"
"But Mikey, that means you haven't left Leeds. Unless you drive like my gran."
Aaaahhh... Fond memories of Bristol...
hey all.
Eurobar have twigged theres a do on and put their rates up. If i can still make it at all, i'm probably headed for the nearest backpackers. I seem to remember a nice canadian mentioning one in the town centre...
btw, Bou: u have mail.

There's a Y.H.A. place around the corner from the Railway station.
The Backbackers hostel is between the Station and the Town Centre, not quite as close as the Eurobar, but not far.
This appears to be their site, rather than one of the hostel booker sites....

Eurobar's full!! Wadda I do?!? WADDA I DO?!?!
Try one of the other places LMS. In all honesty, by the time we got back to the Eurobar, we didn't use it's bar we just went to bed so it's not vital to stay at the same place. Most of the socialising went on before hand.
And you really don't want to see HRH TROUT eating breakfast (even if Hannah Chapter is sat at the other table).
Oi! Piss off, Tips!
I saw you eating a mini-pizza at one in the morning, when you were so pissed you could hardly see it!
I shudder at the memory...

Anyone staying in the Falcon Hotel?
It's at 88-90 Abingdon Road, is that near the city centre?!
"eating a mini-pizza at one in the morning"
Gah, flashbacks!
LMS,
Abingdon Road is one of the main radial roads in Oxford, which runs from the inner city ring road, about 5 mins from the union, to the outer ring road, which is a fair hike away. As I'm not sure on the numbering, I'm not sure what end you will be.
However, there should be plenty of buses along the Abingdon Road.

Are the buses regular?
The busses go about every 20 mins and take one and a half hours.

One and a half hours to go down Abingdon Road into Oxford?!
LMS,
I think Wake is talking about the London-Oxford Buses there, not the local Oxford City ones. It's been a while since I had to rely on an Oxford Bus (living in London now) but looking at the website, it looks like you want the 35, which runs every 30 minutes late at night.
Someone living in Oxford might be able to confirm the route details...

Phew, thanks.
(thanks to Wake, also)
Anyone know if the Spires Four Pillars hotel is any good?
