Title: 4 progs to go...
Post by: paulvonscott on 25 September, 2004, 01:03:38 AM
Yup thanks to Endjinn's auction, and me being drunk in charge of a computer merely key-tapping distance from e-bay, I now have managed to fill the reaming gap in my collection.

I only need 4 progs once they arrive, 1117, 1152, 1153, and 1191.

Anyone got any of them spare they would let me have cheap-ish.

Chrz

Paul

Woah, don't get too excited, I meant remaining gap.

I'll post them to you.

Consider it karma for all the good you bring to the world via Cosmic Ray and Solar Wind.

I envy you

Oooh. I feel a bit of a tit now.  I just sorted out what I assumed was a pile of Progs from 600 to present and found out that there's a ruddy great whole in the collection that is the 1100s.

I've no idea where these are at all.

I did manage to find 1191 though (great cover - Dredd with a godlfish) so I'll stick that in the post for you.

Sorry. I'm now a bit puzzled as to where the rest are.

Grrr!

Only one prog to go!

1117

Perhaps a new era of peace and enlightenment would follow my completion of the great prog-thing.  So, I beg you, for world peace and possibly a cure for all diseases, in the name of all that is worthy, search your attics, down behind the sofa, under stray rocks, for that precious panacea of a prog.

If not for me, for the baby Jesus!

Can't help you Paul, I'm afraid.

But if anyone needs the following...

1287-8, 1293-4, 1303, 1305, 1309, 1311-4, 1318-20

...then let me know. Byron donated them at the recent London Shed, and I saved them from being left abandoned in the hope of finding them a better home then the Horse & Groom's bin.

Dead Oddboy, as I haven't read a single episode since 1050'ish, I would not say no. Still get the Meg though, but just found money too tight to keep getting the weekly (even though I went and bought 2005) Still have about 60 from the 1st 200 and since 1050 to make mine complete. A few Megs missed with being away and my local paper shop not keeping my order for some bizarre reasons. But have got 1-20 in varying states and even got some doubles from the 1st 10. So I am open to swapsies.

Look out for Progs 5 - 500 being sold on e-bay by me 8-) Progs 1 - 3 already sold and made more than I paid for all 500 and my charitable donation to Oddboy of Prog 4.

Just noticed in the online shop they're selling reproductions of early issues, digital archives or something they're called. Anyone bought these, cause I was thinking about it and didn't know what sort of quality it would be.

i believe they are on cd.

You believe WRONG! then Max.

They are black & white reprint books containing 10 progs in their all (adverts, covers, nerve centre et al). The 'colour' pages are a bit ropey, being reproduced in black & white, but otherwise they're pretty good collections.

They were brought out a year or two ago, plagued with printing difficulties & kinda dropped. There was originally 3 volumes, although only 1 & 2 are available now. I've got number 2 - as I don't have progs 11-20.

Well the tension mounts over here at Howie P Lovecraft Block as Paul has sorted out all his progs from modern times to the 900's.  There's been times when he thought he had gaps, but no, everything was okay, he found the progs.

But then...

I can't seem to find 1078/1079 and 1086.  They may be about, but I've searched high and low for em, I can't find em.  If anyone has 'em I'll pay a quid each (including post) if you have spare ones in good nick.  At this stage I can't wait to see if they turn up behind a cupboard.

Cheers to Dave (of David and Mary) and Dave (of X brunt) for their progs which should have been the last ones.

Oh and I have a spare Prog 1208 which I'm willing to let go to a deserving party for as next to nothing as well as a whole a pile of various progs from the 1100's and 1200's which I'd like to sell to get some of my money back.

I think i may have the last few you need and i'm willing to give you them for nothing after the generosity you gave me a long time ago which i realised i never repaid you for so if you still need any just tell me them and i'll trudge through my back issues tonight

Ah, cheers Dave, that would be great.  I've had a look and can't find them, but I'm sure I should have them.  So if you don't mind that would be great.  As long as you can spare them though.
