Was just flicking through my Best of 2K Monthly and stumbled across this delightful cover by Mark Harrison:

Does anyone have the original of this/know who has/know Mark Harrison and be able to reveal its fate? I might have to save up, but thought it was worth a shot ...
Wake knows Mark Harrison.
I'll email Mark today about it.
A lot of his artwork is piecemeal, so for example the original art for

looks like

and is on a scrap of A4 paper.
Cheers,
Wake

Aye, I just thought I'd see if it still exists, in whatever form.
You're a gent, Wake. Many thanks.
Mark's reply was
"Blimey, that's going back a bit.
But I know what happened to this. It was one of the first bits of art I sold to Ian Senior of AAAARGH! Best to contact him.
So it's long gone. Also in the days before I had a computer and scanner I'm afraid!"
Bad luck, LMS.
But that's a terrific service you're giving there, Wake.
Now, does anyone know where to find teh cover art for Prog 1?
Or is it a stupid question? It'll be hanging in Rufus Dayglo's bathroom...

It was one of the first bits of art I sold to Ian Senior of AAAARGH!
Um, at the risk of sounding thick ... who?
Aaagh! used to be THE dealer in 2000AD artwork, having managed to aquire large stacks of the stuff (including Ian Gibson pages which were never returned to him). Now he mostly seems to have Ron Smith and the odd great page which he has priced through the roof. I did allow him to list on this site, but recently removed his listings because I was receiving complaints that he wasn't replying to buyers.
According to someone on comicart-uk he is 'busy with other stuff'. Follow the link below to see a page of what Ian MAY currently have in stock.
Cheers,
Wake

Many thanks for that Wake, I really appreciate the help :oD
I get the funny feeling that this wish ain't gonna come true any time soon :o(
Um ... aside from a lot of random artwork on that list, there does appear to be quite a collection of disturbing looking knives ...

Not that I'm calling the guy's sanity into question or anything ...
In fact, looking at those things, I'd be mad to go within 10 miles of him ...
Ian now imports and sells these weapons at trade fairs supplying knives and crossbows for...uh..ALL the family.
Many of the pieces on the link are gone to new homes.

Quite a few of them I've certainly seen on Ebay in the last year.
I'm guessing he still has a HUGE amount of artwork, maybe he is actually a fan as well or just sitting on them longer for the next boom? (ie when one of the big people die, sad but true I'm sure some people have thought about it)
Right place right time for him I guess, the tales of artwork flying around for a pittance are amazing. But who would have ever thought the UK Original art market would gather so much momentum.
"including Ian Gibson pages which were never returned to him..."
Ah. I think I may have bought a couple of these.
I feel a little awkward about that now.
They are very lovely, though, and they've gone to a good home (ie mine)...
I think too much water has gone under the bridge to do anything about it now.
Presumably, during the period before 2000AD returned the artwork, the artists either didn't leagally own their originals or didn't know that they did. Otherwise, surely they would have asked for them back many years earlier.
Therefore, if 2000AD sold some of the artwork on before the returns started it may well have been legitimate.
When the artists got their art back and discovered stuff missing they could at that stage have sought compensation, but it is surely far too late now, especially since the ownership of 2000AD has changed hands.
