NOISYBAST IN "GETS OFF LAZY ARSE AND DOES SOME WORK" SHOCKER!This afternoon, a surly-looking individual fitting the description of a regular message-boarder from
www.2000adonline.com finished a 3D model he had been procrastinating over since the dawn of time. He was also seen to create a new desktop wallpaper in a variety of sizes. A stunned witness remarked "Blimey".

Bloody italics...
Wooh!
Any chance of doing anyother tooth characters ?
(Nemesis would be interesting- hint hint)
That's what i think we should be going for with the Rebellion games - art that actually looks like it was created by one of the 2000AD greats.
I know that the lovely Jason said the idea of doing many different graphical styles from the one engine was too much of an overhead but why not just pick one and stick to it.
I think I'd prefer an Ezquerra DREDD VS DEATH game or a Dave Gibbons styled Rogue Trooper game (but get Ewins to draw Venus) than the generic half photorealistic stuff that looks like every other first person shooter on the market.
PS: I know nothing about how graphics in games work. Just in case you hadn't guessed.
Cheers chapses. I've added another wallpaper since my last post. Industrious or what?
A Nemesis model seems highly unlikely in the near future, as I have plans for an entire game's worth of Stronty characters, including Wulf, Middenface, Durham Red and The Gronk, amongst others. Anyone who's followed the production of this model will have a fair idea of just how long that's likely to take me
(hint: forever).
Wow ! Looks much more interesting than Rebellion's game designs!
Well done sir!
Rufus
A VERY satisfactory conclusion to several months work.. a pat on the back to you and yours for finally pulling it together.
True to the vision of Esquerra which can only be a good thing IMHumbleO, look forward to seeing how the project develops- (by rights) the more experience you gain constructing the models and rendering the skins the easier and quicker it *should* become as other characters take shape.
At a guess what do you think the polycount for McNulty's head is going to be? ;)
B.
That, Noisy, is sneckin' excellent.
Looks pretty sweet mate, just out of interest what is the tri count ?
Cheers,
Adam
if i used wallpapers i would use that, but seeing as i don't... It's blue screen all the way for me.
Zarjazbast!
Looks great Noisy! Nicely done!
Aww, thats lovely!
Fank oo.
"...just out of interest what is the tri count?"
Currently 2029, but that may change slightly when I rig him for animation. Might need to add a few polys here & there. I might even get away with dropping a few...
'Currently 2029'
Cool, not bad that mate.
I keep meaning to do some 2K models for fun.
I work as an artist for a computer game place over here in Vancouver so by the time i get home the last thing i wanna see is a 3d program.
One day maybe.
Cheers,
Adam
Bast, Those are very lovely.
Now, when can we put the models in the game ?
;D
Dan
Oh, Conexus - I found this amongst some of my older 3D doodles. I'm unlikely to do a full version any time soon, but don't say I never give you anything...
:D
Noisy: glad you ressurected this thread, as I'd missed it.
Awesome site, you should put an ad for it together and get it in Dogbreath. I reckon an article on the use of the game mods would be good too.
I've got two of your papers on my desktop now.
Bolt-01
Not a bad idea that, Bolt. I might have to mail Dr Bob. That article should probably wait until I've got more content to show, though...
Yes, that is very nice. What program are you using? (sorry if I missed it).
Oooh! 3-d nemesis heads......... :)
"What program are you using? "
I'm actually using the much-maligned Milkshape 3D.
It may be basic, but I like it. I am, however, in the process of migrating to 3D Studio MAX.
