Title: LALDYCON
Post by: Richard McTighe on 02 December, 2004, 06:03:08 AM
Help!  It seems to me that there aren't enough people in the Glasgow area going to the pub on a regular basis and talking genre-related nonsense (apart from those blokes who play CCGs in the Hogs Head).

Hence, in an effort to save me from my humdrum life and get chatting to people about such unbelievably important things as comics, films, Doctor Who and other matters, may I suggest a monthly meeting of chat, beers and nonsense?

It's just an idea.  Would any takers like to suggest a monthly central-Glasgow venue, and monthly date?  The first person who turns up and knows how to pronounce "McTighe" properly wins a special prize (like a pint or something.  All right, just a pint.  OK, maybe a half).

i do believe that there was a monthly comic dude get together in Glasgal, wether this has dwindled or is still on-going i dinna ken, i think it was a sortof creators types get together, organised by John McShane, with the beano guys, dandy guys, big Jim stewart & Jim alexander etc etc... if any o them is lurking feel free to correct me?  or invite us all along to the next one ?

failing that, next time i'm in the city i shall command that there be a pub-con of sorts !  ( 17th or 18th dec ? maybe )

Hello, drunks.

I can't manage on the 17th or 18th - or the 8th, 10th, 11th, 12th and at least two other nights - but would, at least, have a briny whisky by myself on the night you're all out, to be there in evil spirit!

Let me know when the first one is in the new year and I'll try and make it up there - assuming I can crash at your sexy new bachelor pad...

You haven't arrived at the pub yet, so I'm not saying.  But don't be surprised if you're wrong.  It might actually be pronounced "ftanng... argh!".

Who hell he?  ;P

You are welcome to stay, but only if you bring Jock in your hand luggage.  ;)

Thanks for the interesting invite!  Looks like my entire life is fully-booked until late January now.  Perhaps we can arrange something for then.

Late January sounds good to me, too.

Is there's something going on during the last weekend in Jan or the first couple in Feb, I may even take part!
