Hiya gang, perhaps one (or more of you) can offer some advice and help?
I've finally completed work on my own website, but I've overlooked something pretty major... THUMBNAILS!
I've over 1200 images of various shapes and sizes that I need to reduce to thumbnail sized format for the site, I just need to know if there is any free software that could help me (or the lady building the site) produce these thumbnail images pretty quickly?
Thanks!
Ed (not head of tech devision, obviously) ;-)
You should use a programe such as thumbs plus, and batch process all the images to a certain size. For instance I made all the thumbs for my site 100pixles wide.
Cheers Max, is this a downloadable program?
Ed
Ah, perhaps it's not, just looked up a link for it,
I'll need to take a look on TUCOWS or Download.com me thinks.
Ed
Easy Thumbnails is the way to go - free too!

I have it on a disc somewhere so I don't think so. I havn't found any other programes that do batches though.
WOW, thanks, I knew I could rely on this place for help.
Cheers mbanners I'll check it out :-)
Ed
Sweet! I'll use this one myself as well!
I've just had a go, pretty cool and user friendly!
and thanks again to you too Max.

or you could try Irfanview, Wake does all the thumbnails for this site with it.

but can you batch process in Infranview. If you can I'd like to know how as I haven't been able to figure it out.

You could easily set up an action in Photoshop to do this using save for web.
Can you call Irfan from another program? That's what I use Easy Thumbnails for - to transparently generate thumbnails from images put into to a Content Management System. You can do the same with ImageMagick [sic] apparently, but I can't work it out :-(

Thanks again gang, I produced these last week using the free Easy Thumbs prog, I knew I could rely on people here for advice.
Cheers
Eddie
Well I never, thanks wake.
