Title: Macromedia Director help!
Post by: Pete Wells on 03 January, 2005, 10:32:19 PM
Sorry to bother you folks but I'm desperate!

My bro and I are doing an interactive book (I've wrote it, he is doing the animations) but unfortunately (for me!) he's done the animations in director and the file sizes are proving to be astronomical due to the huge resolutions he's used for his drawings.

Can anyone tell me how to convert his director movies into something smaller please or point me to a newsgroup type thingy where someone can help?

Sorry to be a pain and happy new year!

Pete.

Couldn't he resize the drawings and redo the animations?

I haven't used Director in years, but you used to be able to export a timeline section as a QuickTime movie, which could then subsequently be reduced in size in the likes of iMovie or Premiere.

Thanks a million Indigo! I've managed to reduce the five second movie from 90mb to 2.6mb with no apparent loss of quality.

Thanks again and sorry if I annoyed anyone!

Pete.
