Title: A favour concerning Real Player files ...
Post by: longmanshort on 04 January, 2005, 05:55:58 PM
Does anyone know any way to improve a Real Player video clip?

My other half's a teacher and she's got a clip off the Newsround website that she's going to use in a lesson, but it's in a pretty appalling state.

So does anyone know how to improve the quality of such files?

Cheers

If you mean the video is all corrupt, then you'd need the original source. There's nothing else you can do :-(

Nah, it's not corrupt. It's just poor quality. You can still see it and hear, it's just a bit rubbish. I seem to recall there being a similar problem when people tried to download the BBC story about Dreddcon - I think Max cleaned it up or something?

Sorry Mike, you are out of luck here, like MP3s, once you've encoded the file you can only make it smaller...

Looking at the original Dreddcon TV thread Scottie was able to rip a larger copy of the original from his Sky + box, which  Max then hosted the new file.
