Title: Mr Barnes understands....
Post by: Leigh S on 11 January, 2005, 03:36:18 AM
Yes he does...

See that Metro Dredd in this months Megazine - he knew we wanted to see the unedited version.  Thats why printed it with the missing scenes reinstated.  That's why he's such a very very good editor...

So how about next month showing the "Boneheads" strip that the Metro messed up over the Christmas break (either by publishing on the New Year Bank Holiday Monday for the first time ever, or not distributing to Birmingham on the preceding Friday) - either way I never saw the first part!

Thanks!

Well the Genolympics had parts 3 and 4 edited into one part, so they could fit it into a 4 day printing schedule..

As for "Boneheads", I dont have a clue what happened to the first part - The Metro doesnt publish on Bank Holidays, and Monday was certainly one, or so I thought - But when I went back to work on the Tuesday, they were already printing part 2!  A year of diligently arranging for works colleagues to get these for me when I've not been around, and I've finally come unstuck!

why'd Metro edited it?

I'm assuming its because they messed up the previous week, by running the prepared 4 parter in a week with 5 Metros published - they printed the last part on the Monday, then did parts 1 to 4 over Tuesday to Friday.  This meant they had a 5 part strip, but only 4 metros to fit it into due to Christmas - hence the editing scissors

Title: Mark Farmer inks Cam Kennedy?
Post by: davidbishop on 11 January, 2005, 07:53:41 PM
Hello all! Am transcribing a Cam Kennedy interview for the Megazine's Interrogation feature and stumbled across something I've having problems proving/disproving. Cam believes Mark Farmer inked one of his Dredd stories - but I can find nothing to support that. Can anyone here help at all? Or supply me with an email address for Mark Farmer?

Anybody?

Mark farmer did indeed ink Kennedy's work. It was "The Taxidermist" progs 507 - 510 in early 1987.

Cam was gearing up for work on his DC maxi-series "Outcasts" so i guess that's why he could only do the inks.

hurrah! for all things jock-a-lorious, i was surprised upon reading the interview with Mr colin MacNeil (sir) in the meg, that i was reading, in the sun, by the pool...

erm sorry yeah, that he was raised in Inverness, is ages with me, & thus will possibly know my childhood chums & possibly partied at the same parties, and moreover, big respect that he managed to develope thrill tastic abilities in the remote thrill sucker infested rad lands of shneckie. hurrah, i must bore him with tedious 80's recollections next con.
