Title: Bog-trotting ursine seeks techy help from english speaker
Post by: Bico on 18 January, 2005, 12:31:21 AM
Someone was kind enough to tell me how to open a second media player while the first one was still running so I could copy screens from media files to the clipboard, but it's dropped out of my head!  Usually I have to be drunk to forget things - grrr!

Anyway, can someone fill in the blanks again?  I remember it entails opening the 'run' menu from the start bar, but that's all - plus I can't remember how to open the clipboard!  I've foolishly tried to find out via google, but it's like the Borg or something - I haven't a clue who they write these things for.  It's like they're explaining it to each other, and normal folks ain't welcome...  Bizarre.

Um... can anyone help me?
Again?

Yup.

Open your normal Windows media player, and get a video running in it. Then go to Run and type in "mplayer2.exe". Run a video in this new player as well.

You can then use "Print Scrn" to copy one of the videos. The other is just black. I can't remember which one it'll copy, so you may need to swap the image you want into the right player.

It's the second player that you get the image from.

Cheers!

Can anyone explain how I open the clipboard?

Also, I'm trying to warp an anamorphic screen-grab by stretching it horizontally until it looks normal - does anyone know a shortcut for doing this with Photoshop CS or Illustrator?

On XP, the Clipboard Viewer is a legacy program hidden in the file structure. Access it via...

C:[backslash]WINDOWS[backslash]system32[backslash]clipbrd.exe

There are also probably other clipboard viewers Google will be able to help you with.

In Photoshop, you can simlpy 'Resize' the image to specific dimensions (Image menu) or use Ctrl+T to 'Transform' it (Edit menu) freehand, which may mean needing to make your Canvas bigger, (also on the Image menu).
