For news and for the newsgroup. That'd be cool.

I could probably create a dynamic page which contains the latest news items (i.e. the ones on the front page, or just the top one) in RSS format. Is that what you want?

I guess the choice would either be the latest news item in full or the headlines list as per the front page

I think it stands for Really Simple Syndication, and is commonly used on blogs and news sites to allow you to subscribe to their content.

You use a RSS reader to subscribe to RSS feeds, such as news.bbc.co.uk, and it will download the headlines when they change.  You can the either open the site in your browser, or sometimes download the story to the reader.

Firefox has built in RSS, but the implementation isn't that good.  Safari is going to get it, as is IE7.  Dunno about othre browsers...

Wake, this is similar to the idea I mentioned last month about putting the Metro Dredds on a feed.  If there's a way to syndicate them, then those of us with blogs and livejournals can see them on our friends or readers page, and folks who read our friends page will also see them.

It's equally a good idea with news releases, and might help prompt TMO to put more of them out.

Have a go with this page for the Metro feed, which should be a valid RSS file, unless the image size is a problem. Let me know if it works (or not).

Cheers,

I'm getting a blank white screen using IE 6.0.  I'll try again with Firefox at home.

I get a blank too, but it's an RSS page, not html so assume it needs to be viewed via some kind of RSS interpreter.
