The first Extreme Edition had a great article relevant to the reprinted material (by David Bishop, in the style of the Thrill Power Overload series from the Megazine).
None of the subsequent Extreme Editions have had the equivalent, which I think is a shame.
I imagine it's down to money. Extreme Editions are cheap and cheerful rerpins, adding extra features would cost more. The first one got one, presumably because it was a tie-in with the Dredd vs Death Game.
I'd like to see them, and collections of relevant covers and character designs to be included.
I'm surprised they haven't tried to collect a few of the early megazine tales- soooo many have never been collected.
If anyone from the reprint department are reading this can we have the whole back catalouge of DEMOCRACY NOW! like the list of issues at the front of the America graphic novel. PLEEAAAAASSSE.
If they add articles, covers & design pages - then they might as well release them in the proper book range.
The only EE I've got is the Firekind one...and I'd still buy that again if they released it in book form.
Many of them do include the relevant covers - sometimes in colour and sometimes in b&w (which may or may not be due to what they still have surviving in the vaults).
I wrote into the Meg once complaining that colour centrespreads were re-printed in b&w and they replied that many of the colour films (or somesuch technical talk) have not survived.
I know the EEs are cheap and cheerful - and really I'm not complaining (much). It was just such a well presented launch EE (that first one) that the subsequent ones seem a bit rushed without the same kind of love and attention.

...and rightly so!
They didn't have the same time restraints when preparing the first one, it might have taken them years working on it before it was published! Also, it was "The First Issue", therefore 'special'.
Also, it had to link in to another product: the game.
The others that followed it might seem less 'Special', but considering they include things like PJ Maybe's antics & Firekind, and they don't have Judge Death in a dress, then I consider them an improvement!

HELL YEAH!
on both counts
and when they going to sort out the copyright problems with Zenith i did have the old Trades years ago but in the foolishness of youth lent them out and would love to see Phase IV in trade form because Zenith was Bloody Brilliant particularly the art on phase III (though Steve Yeowell said at Dredd con he thought it was his "Self indulgent" phase well if thats what he does when he is being Self indulgent then its all about him i say) erm yeah rant over
Zenith Phase IV trade... oh yes please yes please yes please.
Even if the storyline was somewhat strange I thought the ending tied in nicely even if
Spolier warning
It was abit like Dallas at the end
