Title: Is it HEALTHY?
Post by: Carlsborg Expert on 27 April, 2005, 10:45:16 PM
Come on chaps and chappesses, soon you will be going to conventions and whatnot, devouring things like hotel breakies, kebabs and ample booze.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all pretox before we go and ruin our innards on the overpriced indulgences but not feel too guilty about it?

As I enjoyed the snack attack thread so much I could do with absolutely tasty recipes with a fresh zeal of health involved.

Example?

strawberry and banana smoothies.
Cheeese salad with french dressing.
Ceaser(sp)Salad with dressing.
Er..anymore a little less ordinary?

Kiwi fruit is very good for your spunk. Anything you want to tell us, Mike?

Expert, I've lost more than 25 pounds (weight, not money!) since January, mainly through sensible eating.

I cut back on the obvious things, like takeaways, chocolate and beer.

I also instigated a careful programme of low(er)-cal replacements, such as:

Wine for beer

Hellman's extra light mayo

Diet flora

Diet cola

Grilling instead of frying

Takeaway soup for lunch, instead of sandwiches with mayo fillings

Fruit instead of crisps or sweets.

It's surprisingly easy to do once you get into the right habits and, believe me, I feel great for it.

It helps that I also gave up smoking, too.

Good luck!

- perhaps you could even grill some fish...

Mmmmmmmmm.

I eat huge amounts of bananas. They're good energy food, keeping the hunger pangs away.

If kiwis ARE good for a man's trouser cough, then nature has wasted such a spunk manufacturing ability on me as my hopes of procreating are about as great as my hopes of being eaten by a shark ...

And Trout - bananas are also quite high in fat ... ;P

So let me get this straight....

The board feels that spunk is the healthiest low calorie and a good source protein filled snack there is

but why *stick* to one food type.

This is what has ruined diet foods since the 80s...healthy=samey.Weell I think the world has moved on since the Vikings, dont you?

What happened to lettuce and sun-blushed tomatoes.

Carlsberg -

Break out the GI diet.  Unlike every othger diet plan out there, it actually makes sense.

Or you could try my method - cycle to work, be a vegetarian, eat anything I want, still lose 2 stone over the summer.

On the subject of health, here's the history of medicine:

"I have a sore throat."
2000 BC: "eat this root"
1200 AD: "That root is heathen, say this prayer."
1500 AD: "That prayer is superstition, drink this elixir."
1800 AD: "That elixir is snake oil, Take this pill."
1900 AD: "That pill is ineffective, Take this antibiotic."
2000 AD: "That antibiotic is artificial, Here why dont you eat this root."

Is this some form of controlled experiment?

Tweak: I've pretty much given up beer, having only resorted to it on two occasions since mid-January.

However, since I deserve a bit of a treat, I intend to have a few pints on Friday night!

Mmmm. Beeeeeeer...
