Title: The Sticky Vileness of the Megazine
Post by: paulvonscott on 13 May, 2002, 04:28:20 PM
Well, I got my magic cards off the cover without ripping it but that glue is horrible.  In my attempt to get it off it has spread across the prog like black sticky jam.  I'm not as fussed as I used to be about such things, but it'll only infect another comic if I shove it in a pile.  It's already been sticking to things in barely comic fashion.

So stop the sticky glue Tharg, it has thrill sucking properites and I believe is made with slave labour on Zrag.  From baby furry animals.

Yeah but free gifts that destroy your comics are a great British tradition. I recently came accross a pile of Battle Action Forces from my youth.(insert obvious joke here). I'ld pulled out the action force sub-section and cut out all the back page "Collect them all" multi-part booklets they used to stick on the last page. End result big pile of tat. If the yanks ever want to get the collecters market going again they shpuld start doing this as dumb 7 year olds do their best to destroy their collectoions with a pair of badly weilded scissors and some Pritt stick.

True, comics have always been a fairly disposable medium.  It's only nutters like us that have placed more value on them.

Looks like the subscribers get good and bad then. My cards were separate from the Meg. I think I'd rather have a slight crease in my prog every week (THANKS TO THERE BEING NO 'PLEASE DO NOT BEND' ON THE ENVELOPES) than some horrible gelatinous blob adorning my megazine! Sounds very nasty indeed!
