Title: Prog 1291 Problem ?
Post by: Ol^ Marbles on 14 May, 2002, 07:30:38 PM
Just got my sweaty mitts on Prog 1291 (Borders, Oxford St). Nice Death cover. Anyway its now sitting beside me in my bag - I can't read it because I'm supposed to  be counting beans etc. But I really wanna find out if '13' is gonna start sucking anytime soon after its great start.. Will the unattended thrill power melt through my briefcase or should I shuffle off to the wash room for a quick relieving perusal ????

Is it not lunch time?
Or are the bean's owners evil Scrooge-like slave drivers?

13 still doing fine in my view.  Some nice action (but some naughty words).

Hmm, fear not, I was pretty impressed by this weeks 13, it's developing well and I would say it's the best thing in tooth at the moment, if it wasn't for Death. Still a lot to be revealed but I've got high hopes for it.

Call me immature, but the 'bike saddle' gag in the first episode had me rolling about laughing!

It does remind me somewhat of The Invisibles (probably because of what I'm expecting to happen), but I reckon it'll come into it's own eventually.

Why has everyone in 13 got chronic wrinkles? It's off-putting.

I was wondering that!
At first I thought the doctor had played to closely with his chainsaw - but then other people have them too!

I'd get drummed out of the Bean-Counters Guild if they caught me reading a thrill rag like 2000.
Glad to hear 13 is up to form !

not only do people have excessive wrinkling/scars, but the baldies (both the Copper and the Doctor) have got two weird nodules on the back of their heads?  Is this relevant do you think?

I thought the artwork in Dredd and Bec and Kawl was very impressive.

just noticed over at comicbookresources that mike carey's recently signed an exclusive contract with dc, so make the most of 13 whilst 2000ad's still got him.

here's a link to an interview with the man, which not only namedrops wham! (the comic, not the band) but also contains a couple of appetising tidbits about some familiar sounding names.

i've wet my knickers!
