All right, who's recently seen the DVD of this, or remembers watching it on Friday nights in 1981 ?
It's out on DVD, one that was released along with The Day of the Triffids, The Invisible Man, The Flipside of Dominic Hyde, and a bunch of Nigel Neale stuff, as advertised in the pages of the Megazine.
I have just watched it over two nights, and I have to say I enjoyed it nearly as much as I did when I was 10. The first episode is a bit like Take the High Road in places, but when it hits its stride it gets as scary as a very superior Tom Baker-era Doctor Who adventure.
Adapted for television by Robert Holmes, and starring Celia Imrie. She's lovely, isn't she?
Well? Anybody?
I've re-watched it, but it's just not the same without lurching around the local golf course whilst looking through the red plastic packing film from a Peak Frean's Teatime Assortment the next day.
