Title: Bad Wolf theories:
Post by: LARF on 15 June, 2005, 05:33:25 PM
Just read this on the beeb site:
Remain Pure - give it up for a week

This Saturday sees the biggest episode of Doctor Who ever, full of jaw-dropping surprises, amazing revelations and more Daleks than even you can imagine.

Up until now the episode's been kept an absolute secret - there were fake scripts, fake scenes were shot, and no preview tapes have been issued. It's such a secret that not even bbc.co.uk's Fear Forecasters have been allowed to see it.

But all that will change this week - publicity pictures will appear tomorrow, and there's a screening for the press on Wednesday, so stuff will leak out. Our best advice to you - STAY OFF THE INTERNET THIS WEEK!

Especially as bbc.co.uk is running a video teaser every day at noon. It's also shown on BBC One through the day, and at 8pm every night - so step firmly away from the television at those times.

You'll also be missing out on changes to our spin-off sites such as www.badwolf.org.uk, and one or two special treats on bbc.co.uk. Avoid them - they're only there to lead you into temptation.

So - we'll see you on Saturday evening after the last episode of Doctor Who Confidential (which contains a few surprises of its own).

We'll miss you, but it's for your own good.

Al I can say as part of my theory is: Clive

Adam's Winning Entry in the Essay Competition

But aliens could cure it ? not because they?re gods, but because if they can travel through space, they?d have to have more understanding than us of metabolism, and the wear and tear of space travel on their bodies - well, if they still have them! So, they could cure arthritis.

(Emphasis mine)

I'm with the "Adam becomes a new Davros" block. Who're you fighting with?

The Master or Davros.  Probably.

??how could he be the master??

Someone told me that it's been confirmed (but they didn't say by who) that it is not the Master or Davros.

IIRC, Russell T Davies has stated - on the Bad Wolf and Beeb sites - that *none* of the Bad Wolf theories so far are correct. This doesn't necessarily mean that Davros/The Master/the Silurians/the Time Meddler/Sylvester McCoy aren't returning, just that whatever "Bad Wolf" is, it isn't them.

Ah, but Adam wouldn't BE Davros -- he'd just look very, very like him (at least that's what my monies on...)

- pj
(ps urm... even though a number of weeks ago I'd've bet money on it being the master...)

Actually, Ecclestone's Doctor isn't really the Doctor at all, he's actually the Master who, having been sucked into the Eye of Harmony, has been given a new cycle of regenerations but, it being the Doctor's TARDIS an' all that's responsible for all this, is now convinced he REALLY is the eponymous quack and the Bad Wolf is, in fact, Paul McGann trying to usurp the Master-Doctor's control of the Doctor's TARDIS which, naturally leads to some have-some get-some between the two resulting in one of 'em regenerating into David Tennant.

It's bloody obvious. Oh. And there's some guff with the Daleks but nobody's watching it for that.

Well, it'd be typical RTD mischievousness for him to reply, when asked if Adam will become Davros, to say 'no', simply because he won't become Davros*.

As stated, all the Daleks were wiped out in the Time Wars except the one Van Staten had. Adam is the only living person not in the TARDIS who remembers the Dalek, so it makes sense that he could - armed with 20,000 years of knowledge - create a Dalek army by using captured humans instead of mutated Kaleds.

* Davros was a Kaled, so Adam can't be him.

I would also like to add that I have possibly spent a bit too much time thinking about this ...

As long as Adam is played by a different actor, I don't mind him returning.... But please, PLEASE, don't let it be Bruno Langley...

He didn't know a lot about the Dalek, though. Wasn't Van Staten's lot having trouble getting any info at all from/on the Dalek? Plus, Adam's job was in a different bit of the facility, playing with bits of space junk. He doesn't know enough to build his own, nor (probably) does he have the tech available, stranded as he is in 2010.

I suppose, but he does possess 20,000 years of human knowledge, which would no doubt include knowledge of a variety of alien races - maybe even including Daleks. Also, who's to say these Daleks are identical to the one Van Staten has? If I was a betting man, I'd say it's still Adam. But I'm prepared to be surprised on Monday night ;)

LMS' theory is the same as mine, as is DeafandDumb Lad's.  I think it's a combo of the two.

Except, they'll never do the master thing as it would require too much knowledge of the Dr's history.  This does not apply to the Adam theory though.
Title: Re: Bad Wolf theories:
Post by: Artificial Idiot on 15 June, 2005, 09:30:01 PM
I don't actually think Adam does have 20,000 years of Human knowledge. The machines that they used in the future wipes your brain, thus why he was recording it. But, oh dear, The answering machine exploded. I just can't see how he's ever going to retrieve that information... And frankly, don't care because I was never keen on the character in the first place...

That is the best theory I've heard so far.  A very, very bad wolf.  A naughty, naughty wolf that the Doctor should send to bed without supper.

The hardcore spods on Outpost Gallifrey noticed ages ago that when the message is going through to Adam's mum's answering machine, the family dog is leaping around threatening to dislodge the receiver ...

Dog ... wolf ... do you see?

But that would be rubbish.

I reckon it'll be all a huge red herring, and Bad Wolf will not be mentioned at all in the next episode, just to annoy everyone.

This is the cast list from the BBC press release:

"Christopher Eccleston plays The Doctor, Billie Piper plays Rose, John Barrowman plays Captain Jack Harkness, Camille Coduri plays Jackie Tyler, Noel Clarke plays Mickey Smith and special guest star Anne Robinson plays Anne Droid."

? Jackie Tyler, Mickey Smith????

my wife had it sussed (honest).  She said it was a warning or message and that it was Rose related, and she told me to tell you lot as she's rather proud.  So there, it is done.  Not that she'll ever know though.
