Title: shocking futures
Post by: JimBob on 16 May, 2002, 04:50:10 PM
I've been tinkering with a future shock idea for awhile and wandered if anyone knows if there are any submissions guidelines hanging around?
One of the things thats bugging me is sometimes I have an idea for a strip and i have to think long and hard if it's original or I'm dredging it up from memory somewhere. Bloody annoying.
Oh and i promise not to bore anyone with the script.

The submisssion guidelines are in the submissio section of the site. Click on Creators above.

If you want to get some critical comments on your script then join the scriptdroids Yahoo group. However, you should submit a synopsis first.

Thanks for that. Unfortunatly I've realised that my "brilliant new idea" was done in the old DC anthology Wateland and has been perculating in my brain since reading it. Bugger.

It gets harder and harder to have an original idea these days - they've all been used. Don't despair, a mate of mine says there are only 12 real stories in the world. Shakespeare said 7.

You only need to look at the futureshocks that have been published to see that some are very similar to others, or to short stories by Heinlein and Clarke or whathaveyou, not to mention Twilight zone episodes.

I'm sure if it's skilfully written in an original manner and not a complete plagiarism it must be acceptable.
