Title: That other War of the Worlds movie...
Post by: House of Usher on 08 July, 2005, 09:55:06 PM
Someone was asking what ever because of this other version just the other day.

Their website is still going strong, and if you highlight the main panel on the page this link goes to, there's a visual of one of their fighting machines.

If anyone else can be bothered to search the website for an update on the film's progress, could they summarise their findings here for the rest of us? (I'm so lazy).

Link: Martians !

And this link is what what their "Exciting new photo!" link links to.

You can order the film on DVD if you want to.

Looks interesting. And a bit more encouraging than the other war machine picture.

Yep, you can buy it on Amazon, and there are reviews on Amazon too.

It's probably more of an if-and-when it turns up on TV  or at the local video store for me, but it;s nice to know it's out there.

The reviews are, um, not super encouraging. I'll still be keeping and eye out for oportunities to watch it though - but I'll watch any old tosh so long as it has heatrays.

I particularly like this review...

Having just viewed the trailer (the proper one, with the cylinder landing on Horsel Common, and the Handling Machine), I'd say it looked like an episode of The Lexx in terms of the standard of acting and the quality of the CGI.

I'd watch this old tosh today if I could!
