Its late and i've been trawling through the net idly looking over some 'rumours' concerning future (you guessed it ppl) SW films.
Apparently, as is public knowledge Lucasfilm is concentrating on the Clone Wars animated series and a TV spin off from SW situated between ep 3 and 4 and featuring according to some ppl at lucasfilm flashbacks from some characters of scenes before ep 1, the often talked about (in books anyway) mandalorian wars maybe? Lucas himself has admitted that one day in the far future if at all he'd like to do a prequel prequel maybe featuring a younger yoda and sources are indicating that the time frame of The Knights of The Old Republic is appealing to him, lucasfilm say theres officially no more films planned....
...however...unofficially the actors concerned with the tv series are optioned up for future films and Fox, who only distribute the films, are applying huge pressure on Lucas after the massive box office takings of the last film, shouldn't make that much difference as they only sell the things for him, but money talks and i can imagine georges ego is being soothed in all the right ways by greedy execs.
Will it ever happen? I hope so, i thought the last film sort of redeemed lucas...slightly...and lucas himself has admitted he'd like someone else to take it on.
Knights of The Old Republic directed by Kevin Smith anyone?
Or would all the bad guys be sat around malls and video shops moaning?
We'll see.......always changing is the future......
...just tell Lucus to get of his high horse and do episodes 7, 8, and 9. thats what we all want...
...and for what its worth most of 'Sith' should have been episode 1, and then we could have had Darth Vader proper in eps 2 and 3...
...he would have made a hell of alot more money...
But... but... It's not about the money!
All George cares about is the strength and purity of his vision!
He told all his loyal Hyperspace subscribers personally, so it must be true...
But surely George is going back to weird arty low-budget films like he promised! You know the stuff that inspired him to be a film maker! yeah, right...
Oh Mr Lucas, you do leave us guessing, don't you?
We have ongoing cartoons, 3D animated show, TV show, the 3D version of the movies, the re-edited movies, and aside from all the books, comics and games, Lucas claims he never said he *wouldn't* make another three films.
Last time round, I really looked foward to new films, next time... nah. If he makes any more, I'll have to wait for the video to come out. The prequels are bad movies, really painful films to watch. I'm not putting myself through that experience again in a hurry.
And while I did hope he'd eventually produce more independant movies (having loved THX 1138 - which has also been digitally buggered), after seeing what he served up for the prequels, I can't say I'm looking forward to the emperors new films. But I'd rather see something new and bad, than something old and bad. Which coming from me is quite a turn around.
ackshully just read that kevin 'clerks' smith is up to write and direct a three episode story arc for the new tv series, insiders reckon hes got some cracking ideas apparently.....who needs george..........

Cool, hopefully we'll find out if the workers building the 2nd Death Star really were contractors or forced labour.
