Title: Resurrection Men
Post by: Trout on 17 May, 2002, 07:34:05 PM
I've been thinking a lot lately about the plight of poor, poor Dead Oddboygirl.

His final, tragic act (which hasn't managed to shut him up, noticeably) due to his shocking treatment at the hands of UKDane must be rectified.

Let's suggest ways of bringing him back to life, a la 2K continuity.

Possible men for the job include Owen Chrysler, who had overwhelming success with bringing back Mean, although the old cyborg seemed to get progressively more stupid afterwards.

Or how about Malak Brood? As long as the weirdy beardy wizard doesn't get too far away from him, OBG should seem perfectly normal.

Does 2000AD have any more resurrection men?

I'd already conssidered the Malak possibility but I wasn't keen.  Alphy got in a lot of trouble over the inccident.

My current ability to stalk the messsage boards owes a lot to Death & his dead-fluids technique - but I'd rather be a bit less decomposing...

And UKDane - it's okay: I've forgiven you.

Ah, yes. How could I forget old toothy face?

He's a good one.

There's always Great Uncle Baal (how DO you pronounce that, if it's not "Bahl" - ?) who had great success with that reanimated skeleton he used to sit on.

Or there's always time travel.

Well, according to Diablo 2, it's pronounced Bay-al. Must be right, cos it sounds much more evil (if not pronounced Bale)!

This is wot the Merriam Webster has to say on the subject:

Main Entry: baal
Pronunciation: 'bA(-&)l, 'b?l
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural baals or baa?lim  /'bA-(&-)l&m, 'bA-&-"lim/
Usage: often capitalized
Etymology: Hebrew ba`al lord
Date: 14th century
: any of numerous Canaanite and Phoenician local deities
- baal?ism  /'bA-(&-)"li-z&m/ noun, often capitalized

I shall also be following these bizarre instructions to ingratiate myself with my former master :o)

Furthering Your Relationship With Baal

Baal is pronounced "shlawnay".

Mr Dead Oddboygirl, I suggest you follow the other Strontium Dog route by simply going back in time to your earlier adventures, occasionally rewriting old threads.

Thanks for that Mike D!

DOBG, I know you have forgiven me- 'I was on a break after all!'

I'd like you to come back to life too.

TPTB at Rebellion still haven't answered yet.
ps When you where in the void, did you come across the Sisters of Death? As someone was asking about them in another message!

Why bother with glop and tachyons?

IIRC, Alec Trench was resurrected with nothing more than a scooter helmet and colander.

Having just finished reading The V.C.s I'm looking forward to seeing how the new series brings most of them back to life - or will it just be Smith & Blind Jupe & a bunch of newbies?
