I was just wondering about some of the old TT/FS stories and how hit and miss they were.
A few really stick in my mind.
There was one where a guy involved in some experiment that made him move really fast, from his point a view everything was ultra slow, the beating of a fly's wings etc.. he ended up getting revenge on the scientists who caused this by bringing the building down by vibrating (cos he was moving so fast ya see)the concerte supports. Excellent.
Another involved a guy having a heart attack and then relived his life in reverse from the moment of his death back to conception where his life started all over again, sort of explaining deja vu.
Another involved the coat hangers reproducing.
A few were riped off straight from The Twilight Zone.
Anyone got any favourites?

I love the Moore Redondo suicide as time machine story - really bleak and edgy for a kids comic! All the Moore stuff was top rate, and have made the whole concept of FS/TTs look ever wobbly IMO. They always seem so lame in comparison to "The Last Rumble of the Platinum Horde" or "The English/Phlondarian(sp?) Phrasebook"
There has never - never - been a one-off story to match the wonderful madness of Moore's Dragnet rip-off.
The title escapes me but I know half the plot by heart.
All that encountering future selves and murdering your own grandfather was just stellar stuff.

I liked the one that showed how everything had been done before, using a comic strip as an example.
It was spot on.
There was the one with the guy who married a big insect type thing, beatifully drawn by either Ron Smith, or someone very like Ron Smith. think it was actually cos I can see the same guy doing Max Normal, although it may have been the later Max Normal. Was it Chris Weston? He did Killing Time did't he? Anyone remember that one? He ended up looking in a mirror and he was a huge caterpillar or something. Probably a bit Kafka-ish thinking about it.
That'd be Casanovas - artist on "the game game show", and unfortunately, a few M*****r Robohunter strips.
Chrono-Cops!
And the one about the expedition to find an alien race, that discovers that an alien could be no more than an idea....creepy!
Unless shocks can meet the standard set by Moore (or at least come near!), I say enough already!
there was one I remember about astronauts killing each other for an alien fruit which turned out to be the lure for an alien predator, might have been crap but stuck in my mind.
2 really stick in my mind -
1) About a guy who as ESP but he's not very compitent with it - so he "sees" a wallet that's been left on the floor somewhere - he goes to that place and the wallets there but ...empty.
Going home he foresees that the bus will crash - being a bitter twat he doesn't warn anyone on the bus - just acts smug and gets another which - you guessed it (but i didn't when i was 10 and read it) - the first bus crashes into the 2nd.
2) Two blokes sorting through a stock pile of alien weapons for the ultimate weapon - they try out various ones - until one guy finds one and thinks - this is the most powerful i'll kill matey here and keep it for myself - bang he's suddenly killed - seems the ultimate weapon is a helmet that lets you read other people's minds - clever eh?
plastikman.
I remember the one about the astronoughts and the alien fruit. It was in a annual and drawn by Jim McCarthy I think. It wasn't crap either I though it was gerat - still do.
But yes, all the Moore stuff really showed up the other crap TT/FS dross.
Moore chould develop a TV series, sort of a Twilight Zone thing, with all those funky short stories he can come up with. Is there really any other comic writer that can match Alan Moore.
I think not.
I agree with you about Moore - not a surprising view i know! - but nothing turns me off someone / something more than hearing everyone else rave about them.
I read Watchmen a good few years ago and didn't really like it - i've recently read Top Ten and I'm still drooling - it's amazing (funny though the wife didn't seem overly impressed at me pointing bits out to her :) )
He does look like a geek though - idea for a poll...
Do you have a beard and / or glasses? YES / NO
He looks like Rasputin!!!!
I have neither a beard or glasses.
