Title: Sledgehammer. - trust me...
Post by: paulvonscott on 29 July, 2005, 09:54:22 PM
...I know what I'm doing.

Got Sledge Series 1 fir ?13.99 in the Play.com sale.  it's very silly, and still made me chuckle.  Bit of a bargain.

Does anyone remember 'The Searcher'?  It was similar to Sledgehammer.  I thought it was great...

"They call me... The Searcher"

Thinking about it, I think that 'the searcher' was part of a larger program- like the way that you used to get an Inspector Clousau adventure in the Pink Panther cartoon.

Any ideas?

Ahhh... here it is.  Amazingly, I remembered that the bloke was in the movie version of the Beverly Hillbillies*.

The internet is great.

*No, I didn't watch it.

IIRC, Danger Theatre was part of 'Night Train' from the early 90s that had Richard O'Brien introducing different programmes (including Kolchak: The Night Stalker) dressed as Mister X.

Y'know ... I still remember the 80s TV cop show "Hunter" (starring Fred Dryer, if memory serves) which got fluffified after its first series but which I really enjoyed at the start because I thought it had a definite whiff of Dredd about it.

Specifically, the episode where the villain-of-the-week ended up in a stand-off with the titular hero and had a large amount of explosives strapped to him.

So ... Hunter grabbed him and lobbed him out of the nearest window. F*cking great stuff.

Cheers

Jim
