Title: The Shed-con raffle.
Post by: DavidXBrunt on 16 August, 2005, 01:11:38 AM
At Shedcon 1 we had an organised raffle. Well, Logan organised a raffle.

The impromptu nature of Shedcon 2 meant a raffle was pointless.

At Shedcon 3 the raffle was a huge success. And Logan organised it.

So...Shedcon 4. Are we bothering with a raffle? If so can we pull together without our fearless leader? Blakes 7 managed it so why can't we?

We'll need prizes, who's going to cough them up?

I've had a root around and have got new copies of the Rebellion 'Day of the Droids', Titan books 'Cursed Earth', 'Day the Law Died', Rogue Trooper, and one of their Modesty Blaise books, Doomlord reprint, that's half a dozen and hopefully a few of the boards small pressers will offer an issue or two and if you all have a dig around I think it's doable...

Come on people, your Shedcon needs you.

I've got a page of artwork by Jock that you can have if you want it.

There was so a raffle because I did it!
(I think you've missed a Shed-con out?)

I'm planning something extra-special for the raffle... (though it's no signed film star photo mind...)

I've got a Terrahawks DVD that I won in the first Shedcon raffle...

I've also got a DVD of Nosferatu which has a soundtrack so awful (in an early 80s cheesy synth way) that it must be heard to be believed. I'm sure I can drag out some other tat too.

You do realise that the series of Blake's 7 without Blake was largely rubbish, don't you?

Help us, Obi-Logan, you're our only hope...

I'll chuck in a very nice annual with signatures that I won from the Trout a while back, as I have realised I am an utterly inappropriate owner for such a nice thing.

Actually, Trout won the annual from me, and then used in immediately in another comp, so that's three successive competitions that this annual has been in.

I forget which one it is, but I bleieve it's got the signatures of John Wagner, Alan Grant, Simon Bisley and Bryan Talbot amongst others.

I'll happily chuck some Solar Wind stuff in, though I may not be able to attend.  Just don't tell me if it's left abandoned in the pub!

Well the Bear's had all my Solar Wind stuff off me, so I'll happily half-inch them if anyone is foolish enough to leave them behind.

Okay.  I'll try and keep back a copy of all the issues I've done so far.  Let me know to which gadgee I need to send them in due course.

I've been pleased with the raffles, though I think I've only been to two.  I have the artwork from the first Shedcon, which is a rare example of Lazy Arse Wilson actually drawing something (hence it's suspected pricelessness) and the Moore CD (donated by Petemask) which I think is great.
