The suggestion's in the title. Has this been done before?
The idea came from the Vid Game thread: if the idea is to promote 2K, then wee, easy to make comp-games are one idea (for internet-Flash and mobiles) - and so is Top Trumps.
Obvious cards: the 4 dark judges, the ABC Warriors, famous Judges, Stronts, Rogue Trooper...
Would make a great free gift like the Dredd playing cards.
SFX gave away Totty Trumps where all the sexy stars of sci-fi were pitted against each other in a huge Battle Royale bloodfest, but in card form.
Sold mine on Ebay for ?6 to Austrailia of all places.
Look no further:

The on-line version is great fun, and tremendously addictive, but it does have one major drawback: the number 7 looks like 1, leading to occasional errors...
It would be great if the creators could fix this, but that would mean changing almost every card in the set.
Mike C.
Pah! Artie Gruber would never beat Shako...
And is that the game's designer dominating the top of the leader board?
:-p
Well, there you go: all Tharg needs to do is print those out and sell 'em in all good retail outlets.
(It all sounds so easy when you have no idea what's actually involved.)
We have asked Tharg, but...
Wealso talked about changing the 7 and 1, but as you yourself mention, it would mean changing 99% of the cards.
The problem isn't that a one doesn't look like a seven, but that the seven looks like a 1. So look at it this way, unless you want to loosethe card in question, if you are unsure, assume it's a seven, as 1 looks like "|".
Plus you can always look at the number highlighted under your name, for a clue.
BTW has anyone found a way to cheat yet? I'm sure there's a way ;-)
Heh - that high score was hard fought - the trick is to select lower values as often as you can - so winning by choosing an intelligence of 6 or 7 earns you a lot more points than using the same cards 8 or 9 values. I'm toying with the idea of adding some new characters from the last 12 months or so to the pack - any suggestions (must be 2000AD rather than Megazine characters for the prog number to work though)?
shame woulda been cool to see jack point's points
Demon Jenny and Public Defender 314 should definately be in there
P14.
Aimee Nixon
who's public defender 314?
What about an alternative Dredd-verse set so 2000ad and Meg characters could be used, instead of a prog, you could have 1st appearance date?
314 is the defective robotic lawyer who represented Kenny Who and more recently Dudley D. Dudson.
They've just given away free playing cards with the Meg, so it can't have been so exhorbitantly priced.
I must admit I would probably use them more than the pack of playing cards which, although lovely, alway seem to end up with people going 'what's that? a 7?' when you display your hand.
I think that Middenface McNulty would be a great addition to this Top Trumps game. I don't know why...:)
As with my still fully intact 2000AD pencil and completely unwritten in 2000AD diary, I haven't used the cards as cards: they're just too much of an artefact.
You can take it too far, though: one prog I got in a bundle off E-bay still had the bubble-gum sellotaped to the front, which had, through the years, decomposed and become one with half the pages, completely ruining the prog.
All hail Deputy Chief Judge Fish!
He'd be a great card. His score would be 10 for everything!
Fish is my hero.
- Trout
It was good that he made it into the playing cards. :)
that game is fun, thanks for pointing that out.
What? Is fish in there?
I thought he wasn't.
I'm confused.
Who am I?
he isn't there, don't know what Jimbo is chattin' 'bout
By playing cards I assume he means the ones they gave away free with the Meg.
Yeah, perhaps I should have clarified that better, sorry.
In the playing cards given away with the meg, he's the six of clubs, the 'judge' suit. And what a damn fine six of clubs he makes.
Adam Cadman is shit, but The God-Droid beat Judge Dredd! Ha!
