Received all my GNs, including my free one, yesterday and have to say I'm greatly impressed by the service.
Spoke to Denise and she said the demand had been so great that they'd had to order a reprint, which can only be good for 2000AD GNs as a whole. Hopefully, we'll see this offer repeated next year - it really is the only way I can afford to buy GNs.
I hope Denise is enjoying soaking up the sun after all her hard work!!!
I must say my only disappointment was the lack of 'bonus' material in the GNs. Swimming in Blood had a mini history, but I think Shimura would have benefitted from a reprint of the Robbie Morrison Meg interview (though it was probably written after the GN had been produced) or some background of the genesis of the character. Same for Robohunter and Red Razors methinks ... just a thought for future issues.
I agree. Even a short intro would be nice. The old Titan reprints definitely benefited from one.

Yeah, even a more comprehensive front covers reprint would be good - I'm pretty sure there were a load of ones from Shimura that were missed.
All (I think) of the Book 2's onwards have a 'PREVIOUSLY ON BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER' page as an introduction, which I think is a good thing. If the Book 1's had an introduction from the authors (script and/or art droids) that'd be aces.
I wondered whether the absence of "extras" in the DC/Rebellion books was perhaps due to an insistence from DC on a fast turnaround. Pure speculation, of course!
The things I find most interesting are the pre-lim sketches by the artists - the Devlin Waugh ones are fascinating, as are the Dante ones ...
God bless you Denise and Tharg. I now have a copy of Red Razors. Whether I'll ever read it is in doubt but at least I have it.
Gawd bless you Denise and Tharg - clearly a match made in heaven. My ABSOLUTELY FREE Robohunter was a pleasure to receive and read.
Wake - time for Denise to get a profile page?
I'll add my name to the God bless Denise camp! Had some problems with my payment, and Denise soon sorted them. Lovely woman. Credit to Rebellion!
Finished my FREE copy of Shimura. It wasn't too bad, just glad I didn't have to shell out ?15 for it...
excelsior!!!!
Have actually been impressed with Red Razors, somehow seems better than when I read it originally. I guess you just have to take Mark Millar at face value, treat it as a lark and try not to cry sallow tears of disappointment too much. The opening info page is good though - exactly the kind of thing every GN should have!
i'd like to add my blessings to this bless-fest.
twas lovely to get a copy of the ABC GN. very nice indeedly.
And "Thank You" for my free copy of Skizz which arrived today in immaculate condition!
Cheers,
M@
Having just picked up a couple of cheap 2kAD yearbooks, I notice there were one or two Red Razors one-offs that have not been included in the new GN - is there any reason for their exclusion?
They were crap.
(Sorry, couldn't resist.)
Well, if you're going to exclude RR stories "because their crap" then really the GN would just consist of the cover ... but I've enjoyed it. A good character idea that Millar quite obviously got bored of almost instantly ...
I got the RR book as the freebie too... it's the only (non-Dredd) US-sized book I'd not got. If they'd done a Skizz & only put the first story in, I'd've got it ages ago - but I didn't want to pay for "Hunt for RR"!
Gawd bless Denise and the Amstor Computer!
Thanks to them both a shiny fresh copy of The Romanov Dynasty arrived this morning (along with an unexpected copy of The Filth from TAC).
Never read any early Dante before so am looking forward to this dose of Thrill Power

I'd have loved to read my free copies of Gath books 1 + 2, but unfortunately I never got them back from a certain ginger northern pencil zombie...
Has the postman noy returned them yet?
That's not right, they were posted two weeks ago.
