Title: Foundry Figures Finished
Post by: Mangamax on 22 May, 2002, 04:26:28 PM
Well that's them done. Wot i thunk:
Dredd - best of the lot, good pose and decent size chin. It's not till you paint the badge that it becomes apparent that his name's on it! Slightly bigger than the Games Workshop version. Went with dark blue rather than a black body suit.
Alpha - everythings pretty accurate apart from the studs on the left shoulder pad - if the sculptor can get the holsters just right, along with the buckles and clasps, how come he falls down there? Painted him in the classic colour scheme but i dunno - something that looks fine in the comic doesn't look so convincing in 3D.
Mean - nice bit of work with an excellent arm. The dials there but i'll be buggered if i'm going to put the numbers on.
Slaine - still the weakest. Sorted out that stubble problem but now his hair is giving me trouble. Its just as spikey as it should be but doesn't look right. Didn't have the problem with the Lee Ames 1/6th kit of the chap so maybe it's a question of scale?
Craft to accompiny the figures would be cool and if done in injection plastic would be affordable but i found, when making dioramas for the Games Workshop figures, that Zoid toys when painted up to look realistic fitted very well. Still can find them at boot sales.
