Title: Judge Death colour - final verdict
Post by: Mangamax on 24 May, 2002, 09:45:37 PM
Well, he's all done and primed up ready for painting tomorrow.
Thanks for the feedback on potential colour scheme's - i've decided to go with the following:
Skin - grey greeny tones. The latest Batman: Gotham Nights has a brilliant Brian Bolland cover of ol' Bats in amongst a swarm of zombies and that's what i'm going for.
Tunic - matt black with dark grey highlights.
Kneepads, armpads and belt - dark green.
Shoulder pads and badge - sick looking flesh tones.
Helmet - going gloss. I'm going to make a section of a Mega City One building to put him against for some photos and the gloss will make a nice contrast to the rest.
In answer to PVS, it's not really a sculpture - i've taken the Death 1/6th vinyl kit (you know - the one with the terrible pose of him with arms outstretched, head back and mouth open. Looks like he's giving a Tarzan yodel) and reposed it to match the drawing of him on the front of the hardback Dredd collection. Took a bit of hacking and resculpting to get there but he's done - all i need is the right size black marble to stick on his belt for the dimension jump.
When the photo's are back i'll be doing a piece for the features section of this site i think.
