I'm bored, I'm sat up so I can get ready for nightwork and I'm surfing the net. So I'm starting another list thread to find 50 more really great things that make life worth living. Whether anyone else posts remains to be seen.

In no particular order...

50) Burt Bacharach. I've got one of his greatest hits C.D.s playing in the background and each and every song on the double disc set is a belter. In terms of compositions that are universally known you'd have to go to the back catalogue of The Beatles and the songs popularised by Elvis Presley to find anyone who can come close.

And even well into his 70's he's still going, still experimenting and for the first time writing his own lyrics. They might lack the wit and wisdom of Hal David or the popular touch of Carol Bayer Sager but are all the more touching for coming from the great man.

Sweeping, grand, epic, tender, silly songs that I don't think I'll ever get tired of. Plus thanks to Connexus I'll never hear 'Close to you' again without laughing.

I meant the Ross Wilson who wrote and sang 'Eagle Rock', a classic rock song, singer/lead guitarist/songwriter for the legendary Daddy Cool and the less legendary but damn good Mondo Rock. Also he's an alround nice guy and answered my emails, which few rock legends would do.
