What do i need to start network gaming?
I'm on Wanadoo Broadband and have a wireless/ethernet connection.
Do I also need to get a USB headset?

Toss it and get an XBOX. ?40 per year for a LIVE subscription and headset.
and a game thrown in (Halo 2, etc.) in most places. And I've seen packages for around ?100 with Xbox, games, remote control, Xbox Live and other stuff...bargain.
Of course for ?25 you can get a gamecube at Comet.
You don't need a headset, unless you want to communicate with those you are playinng with. But it isn't essential.
You need a broadband connection, a ps2, a ps2 network adapter, and an online game.
It took me only a few moments to get set up, and although I registered straight away, and could play games immediately, my registration didn't arrive in the post until around 2 years later! YES, 2 years!
I admit I had to contact the relevant parties in order to get help setting up, but that was due to needing pin numbers etc. Which as I mentioned above arrived earlier this year!
Xbox live all the way! Pisses on the playstation network from a great height + it has the greatest ever console game Halo2 online as well!!
What physcially do I need to get online with XBOX live then?
We have an XBOX.
We have a PC with broadband connection.
We have a teenage son with a birthday coming up.
So what would I need to get an XBOX live connection going?
I'm assuming I need a subscription to XBOX live and some wireless connector to make the XBOX talk to my PC and it's lovely broadband connection.

You need an Xbox Live account which are about ?30 off play.com. This is a years subscription. Then you need to connect the xbox up to the internet via an ethernet cable. I think you can run a cable straight from the back of your pc to the xbox or like i do go straight from your broadband modem into the back of the xbox. It needs to be ethernet though.
