Title: 10% off any Ebay item
Post by: Rex Banner on 01 December, 2005, 04:16:46 PM
When you buy any item off Ebay & pay with Paypal you can get 10% off any one item.

When you go to the payment screen on Paypal you have an option to add a message & to the right of that redeem coupon or voucher.

Enter C11-GIFTGUIDE & you should receive a 10% discount on the item's cost, not p&p, from Paypal.

It's a one use deal & expires on the 18th December.

Who funds the 10%? If someone used that on one of my eBay auctions I'd be well pissed off.

I've just had to make my first Ebay claim from some wanky seller that won't refund over a hundred quid for an item that the tracking number he supplied says never even left the US!

Tosser...

JEB --

Hundred quid? Pah! I've just had a bill for ?1,000 from DHL for customs charges on items worth less than ?180!

Cue much stress, especially when I realised their bloody phones get switched off at 5.30. Still waiting for a reply to my (lengthy & irritated) email...

WHAT?!?  Fucking Hell- how can they justify that?!?

No idea whatsoever. My working assumption is that they've mistakenly sent an invoice that should have gone to their local depot to me. The package weights & destinations don't seem to match my own shipment, and I've already had another invoice for ?37 (which matches up with typical import charges, IIRC).

While I'm pretty sure it's a mistake, the damn thing is payable within 7 days and the longer it goes without any reply from DHL the more I worry about it.

Add that to my dodgy laptop and a shitty week at work & I'm not having the best time at the moment!

sounds like it isn't meant for for you, so i wouldn't worry about it, they can't charge you for their own fault

Problem is, it's addressed to me and it has my customer ref. on it, so it would seem that as far as they're concerned it is for me!

Huh- you'd think not, wouldn't you?  I reckon Amstor's right to be getting the fear!

The 10% is funded by Ebay & Paypal, which are the same company.

It's a big Christmas promotion thing where Ebay members are being given vouchers along the lines of free p&p or a discount & Ebay members have been sharing the vouchers on the Ebay community boards.

The seller is none the wiser. He or she just gets there funds the normal way.
