A truly great comedian capable of the most excoriating verbal attacks and biting wit. If nothing else then the cover of 'Was it something I said?' always makes me smile.
He was the best thing in Superman II and about a million times better than Edie Murphy
Superman III, you numpty...
;)
That's how good he was, apparently: he was the best thing about Superman II despite not even being in it!
Superman II is rubbish?
"Who is this fool?"
will you be watching King Kong or The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe,or both ?

Brought up in a brothel and went on to have a series of wave turning comedy, live shows with a slew of film appearances.
What about his impressions?...man.Hilarious.
No Richard Pryor, no Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, and dare I say it, no Bill Hicks as we knew him.
A true groundbreaker.
Superman II rubbish?! *Splutter*
ANY film that has the words 'Kneel before Zod' in the script is amazing beyond belief in my book!
You may dare to say, but Bill Hicks would have flourished with or without Pryor.
As good as he was Richard Pryor is guilty of fueling the asperations of Richard Balckwood and Lenny Henry, possibly two of the most unfunny people on the planet.
Just not funny.
I'm not saying Bill Hicks wouldn't have flourished, I'm just saying he, and the whole of stand up, would have trned out very different without Richard Pryor.
He was great in "The Good Life".*
*Ok, I stole that joke...
Didn't Bill Hicks lift his act straight from Sam Kinison? And then, in karmic cyclicity, didn't Denis Leary return the favour?
They all owe it to Lenny Bruce.
I think you mean Lenny Bennett, surely?
Dammit, what was I thinking!
Lenny 'comedy god' Bennett.
And Dustin Gee.
