Jock has been asking Jon about this and there just aren't enough pages at the mo, it's something like 47.
Which would make for a very short EE as well.

While I'd much rather see a longer Lenny Zero collection, I'd say a

lenny zero is hot, therefore a lenny zero collection would be good stuff.

the answer is that someone needs to write/draw more lenny zero stuff.

I suggested that Andy write more Lenny in his spare time, then flog it to tooth in the brief gap between DC exclusives.
His reply: "What spare time."

While he's under that DC exclusive, I don't think we'll see any more.

Um... so the preview function displayed my links, then they were all stripped out when I actually confirmed and posted? Useful.

The links I posted were to previous Rebellion trades - Lobster Random, Shakara, Bison, Hewligan's Haircut, Family etc. - pointing out that 47 pages was actually a fairly typical length for a Euro collection. 46 story pages, plus the "making of" feature from an old Meg, plus a sketch gallery and notes from Jock & Andy Diggle and you'd have a collection the same size as many of the other Euro books.

As future trades, like Fiends of the Eastern Front and Leviathan are only slightly shorter and slightly longer respectively, the "not long enough" reasoning seems slightly inconsistent. If there were plans for Jock & Diggle to return to the character & a collection was being held off because of that, I could understand, but AFAIK neither are going to be in a position to do so for quite some time.

Ah, well...

Graphic Novel would be nice.

As would more Lenny Zero. Please. I know you're out there.

How about a combo Lenny Zero/Low Life 'Wally Squad' collection?

Lobster Doug is intrigued by that idea.

...now that is a promising idea.

As he features occasionally and has more name recognition, how about wrapping it up under the Judge Dredd line, so:

Judge Dredd: Wally Squad

Lenny Zero 10pp
Dead Zero 20pp
Wipeout 16pp

Paranoia 52pp
Heavy Duty 15pp
Rock and a Hard Place 20pp
He's Making a List... 10pp
Untitled 2006 Low Life story

...and that's 143 pages, not counting whatever the new LL story comes to. Enough for a nice chunky paperback.

Cracking idea, Steve.

Does Dredd World material ever end up in wurotrade format? I don't think it has so far, and that's probably a good thing.

Thanks,

I'd certainly buy it - they've been my favourite non-Dredd strips set in Mega-City.

I second the 'collected jock dredd' idea. He's becoming a big name now, so it might turn some heads stateside, and his rendition of dredd is superb, surely one of the best in recent years, he really seems to understand the character. Plus he did that 'shirley temple of doom' story, in which matey boy brit cit judge bought it (grubb's disease). And that was cool. Could have a wicked jock covers gallery as well, like the recent gatefold one (prog 1450?)

I like the 'zero/wally squad' idea.

I really like the idea of more Zero.  Pleeeeeeeeeeeease!  There must be a way.

Banzai Battalion was published as a paperback Eurobook...

...as was Missionary Man. So much for that theory...
Title: Re: Lenny Z collection

...except, IIRC, Missionary Man was a Titan release. The only Reb Dreddworld Eurobook so far has been BB.

I still think some of the more esoteric Dreddworld strips would be well-suited to Euro format - The Simping Detective, for example.

See, now I don't have "but dreddworld titles aren't eurotrades!" to fall back on all I have is my general dislike of the eurotrade format.

(all this idle speculation is, of course, kind of pointless anyway)

Heh :-)

I'm quite fond of the Eurotrades, but I still find the length & price a bit irritating. Keeping to the original print size is something I appreciate, and if Rebellion could see their way to ditching the hardbacks on most of their new Euro releases & upping the page count (so we get all the Lob Random stories to date, not just the first 40-odd pages...) I'd happily swallow the same price. It's being asked to pay the current price for 40-50 pages under a hardback cover that grates a bit.

Just adding my support to a Jock Lenny Zero & Jock Dredd (Shirley Temple, Ken Dodd and Meg Doppleganger tales)  Extreme Edition - that would be lovely!

oh, + i could do a new cover for you if i book it in with DC. they're very good about letting creators honour commitments else where.... unless it's marvel.
