I've just about finished this game on the Playstation. It's not bad, but not really what I was expecting. More of a first-person stealth-shooter rather than an adventure type thingy. Anyhoo, it's main distinguishing feature is the rather lovely cel-shaded cartoon style graphics, which give it a very comicy feel.
Apparently it's based on some French comic. Anybody read it and, if so, is the game art representative of the source?
It occurred to me that this might be a really cool - if slightly chancy - route for Rebellion to take with their future games. Imagine a Stronty Dog game in the style of Simon Harrison or ABC Warriors a la Bisley.

You are joking aren't you?
Slaine The Horned God - that would be an interesting one to do.
i thought this when i played XIII, but even better was the recent spiderman ( ultimate) that was litterally like playinga comic book.whilst reveiwers slagged it off, they basically did not get it, the younger set off which is was more aimed at played it till the wheels fell off.
it has true comic book colouration, proper comic book pages and layouts. a brillant romp of a game if you place youself in the same mode you may pick up a younger comic book title and enjoy.
though i think rebellion shoudl considera a GTA style of mega city one,or a sims version of it. with such a wealth of source materail it has to have massive potentail.
I took the hump with Ultimate Spider-Man, as I thought the cel-shaded approach to graphics just doesn't work in practice.
They never look like a proper comic page, so what's the point? Casual gamers don't care either way, hardcore gamers are unlikely to give a toss beyond the novelty value (which is practically non-existant, given that cel-shading was appearing on the N64 eight years ago), and they never look like the source material when you remove hatching and the odd duff brush stroke from the equation.
Another problem I had with USM was the frustration-factor that seems to be occurring in the more easily-played games of late, and seems to be the only reason the player doesn't walk through the game in a day. No difficulty curve, no slowly improving stats that allow your character to gradually pass previously insurpassable game obstacles - just pure blind luck whether certain moves happen as they're supposed to. Tekken 5 and Dead Or Alive 4 are culprits, too.
There should be a sinister dexter PS2 game in the style of gta.
or in the style of hitman
I think that may be Lucky Thirteen.
As for game based on 'SLaine: The Horned', great idea. I would love to see 3d renders of Bisley's artwork in a game. I'm not sure how it should be done though. Already, he has lent his artistic talents to a First Person shooter a few years back. It had something to do with the four horsemen of the Apocalpse.
As for now, 'Rogue Trooper' is about to happen and maybe if that turns out well........
GTA San Andreas - Gangs of Mega City One.
Slow driving, tapping, scrawling, sky surfing, pod wrecking, block war, Jimping, Futsie rampages, face changes, ugly clinics, Stookie glands, Munce, Hotties, Umpty candy, black market stubs..
Imagine hotwiring a Manta Prowl Tank.
Another great idea!
I have played GTA and found that the bones of that game would fit inot the skin of quite few 2000AD most well known identities!
You could give that game many settings.
I was thinking muself, that GTA as game based on the Ghostbusters Movie or the Blue Brothers mvoie would very interesting also.
