Title: World Cup 2006 themed Extreme Edition
Post by: Marbles on 10 February, 2006, 10:10:26 PM
How about a footy issue in time for the summer's big kick-off ?

The classic Robo-Hunter story (Bev, Kev & Trev, Blakee Pentax etc) would be a shoe-in.

Might be a chance to reprint some Harlems Heroes or Mean Team too.

Personally I'd love to see a reprint of 'Battles' excellent Tom Tully/Mike Western story 'The Team That Went To War' (the World Cup is in Germany after all..)

Probably would have been if it had not just been reprinted in the latest Slade collection.

There's only one story that could possibly fit into all the jingoism we will be experiencing this summer -

BIG DAVE

As Big Dave falls into the creator-owned category on the Thrills list, it's unlikely he'll be getting a reprint any time soon. Which is a shame as I, for one, reckoned he was pretty amusing.

In that case Duds, I vote for an all new thrill - Big Dai - The Grand Slam Year (and the follow up; Big Dai - There's only 2 Teams I Support - Wales and who ever's playing against England (except the Germans)).

WoD - that's a ridiculous idea.

This is much better:

Big Wullie - There's only 2 Teams I Support - Scotland and whoever's playing against England (even the Germans).

Shouldn't that be especially the Germans?

Especially the Germans, the Argies (but only when they cheat) and the French.

question, is that a quote from BIG DAVE? if it is then it was used in the Brit horror movie CREEP, if its not and its just a typical saying about football. ignore me.

(i dislike football and dont live the UK so forgive me)

It's pretty much a general football quote.

With my dad being frae Glasgae I often heard the Scottish version when growing up.

Trinidad and Tobago forever!

I second the cup-themed EE, by the way.
