So ive read the first 2 volumes of this series and am very very very happy with it but am struggling finding somewhere online to buy the 3rd book. Forbidden Planet dont have it so does anyone know of anymore relible online stores i could maybe get my next fix from? Thanks in advance :)
All seven volumes are available from Amazon, although Entropy... is on 11-14 days (which is Amazon UK speak for "we'll order it over from Amazon.com").
Thanks. Amazon tend to be quite costly. Anyone know of anywhere else?
:: Amazon tend to be quite costly.
Uh, right. All seven Invisibles books from a high-street bookshop: ?105.93. All seven from Amazon: ?69.89. This must be some new definition of the word "costly" that I don't understand. (And, yes, I know you only get free postage when the order's over 17 quid, but either buy 17 quid's worth of stuff, or pay the postage?the overall cost of the latter will still be cheaper than the high street.)
When you put it like that ive ordered them! Volume 3 and 4 for ?18. Mustnt grumble. Just need to keep my eye out for the 2nd volume of Seven Soldiers :)
Well, enjoy! The Amazon card boxes are also a benefit over, say, Play flinging GNs through the British postal system in bubble-wrap envelopes.
If you buy 2 from play you get the card box. Just so you know ;)
That wasn't the case for me -- each item winged its way to me in a separate envelope. To date, I think Amazon has always sent single items in card packaging.
Ditto. Every time I place an order with Play, I receive each item separately in either a light jiffy bag or a flimsy card foldaround. I don't understand why they ship orders like this, and since I tend to order in bulk - cheap DVDs & CDs, natch - I normally end up with a stack of these stupid, flimsy little packets.
I think the reason offshore retailers such as Play ship bulk orders as individual items is so that customers don't have to pay tax on anything over #17.00, should those orders be stopped by Customs.
Now where's me bastard pound sign gone?
A shame they don't have an intelligent system, then*, because you can order a million pounds' worth of books and not get charged import duty, seeing as books are VAT-free in the UK.
* But then Play's entire system is broken?or at least it was a couple of years back. When I lived in Iceland, Play kept denying my purchases. Turns out its system couldn't deal with my "card holder" address not being in the UK.
