I've just been sent the first photos of the finished lawgiver Mark II replica. I should be able to bring at least one to Bristol next weekend to show people who are there, and start shipping soon after that.
Cheers,
Wake

Sigh, pretty.
Does it vibrate?
Note for convention-goers:
The lawgiver is programmed to recognise Wake's hand-print. Should anyone else attempt to use it...
It's well made and all but it looks very plasticy. I mean for ?100 I'd expect it to look like it was made of metal. Sorry, it's a pity because it is really well made.
The main barrel, internal recoil suppression tube, palm sensors, ejection port cover and gold-plated eagle are all metal.
Perhaps you might prefer the weathered finish.
Cheers,
Wake
'dats lovely.
Bolt-01
Does it fire plastic rounds?
I hadn't considered the hand imprint when trying to pass myself off as Wake at the last Shedcon in the hope of sneaking a peek at the prop brought along. Makes me glad yon chappie wasn't fooled.
What does it weigh in at?
that is awsome wake.
a truly wonderful piece.
It weighs about 500 grams.
Cheers,
Wake
I'm kinda with garageman on this one, it's a beutiful peice of work to be sure, way better than anything I could've done, but the trigger lets it down.
It might just be the angle of those shots, but it looks like it's moulded out of the same peice as the trigger guard/ main body.
Otherwise, that's a fine peice of work, not a patch on the Mk I design of course, (Or my MkIII efforts - see elsewhere on this board :) )but very well done.
Oh, and would it've killed you to put some actual LED's in the ammo selector display? (And while you're at it make it voice activated and put some kind of palm sensor in the hand grip)
:)
The scuffed lawgiver is one of the test casts and is not of production quality. The trigger in the factory finish photo looks a lot better.
A separate trigger wouldn't have been feasible without increasing the cost of the gun. Perhaps one day we'll do a hero version with LEDs, etc., but it would probably end up twice the price.
Cheers,
Wake
Yeah, I realise it would be prohibitively expensive, but my thinking is, if you're going to go to all the trouble of making such a nice looking replica, why not go the extra light year and make a fully functioning working model? :)
How hard would it be to make Gun just like that aout of metal. Something shiny.
Wityh moving parts, and flashing lights.
WHOO, YEAH. Hur ,hur wish I had ?100 notes to waste on that baby! Swaggering around the house issuing sentences-
"Excessive teen whining! You're grounded, creep!"
Alpha's gun looks ace too. WHY DO I HAVE TO BE SO POOOOOOR!
Following Bristol Expo I've asked Jason to increase the weight of the lawgiver to around 800 grams. I've also just listed a movie lawgiver on Lawgivers compared (http://www.2000ad.org/oscar/forsale/2lawgivers.html%22%20target=%22_blank)
Yay! My Lawgiver arrived today - thanks Wake!
It's a lot lighter than I imagined, but feels really nice and solid. Good quality manufacturing and paint-job, too! I feel like I'm a kid again: I've just spent a good hour running around the house and repeatedly arresting the cat (on a charge of littering, naturally).
After the now-legendary Judge Dredd badge, the Lawgiver is definitely the coolest piece of 2000 AD merchandise I've seen.
Now to somehow work out a way to make it functional... Does anyone know of a good source of heat-seeking bullets?
