We need more trivia here.
Today, I visited a cemetery, a cafe and a birthday party where I got to make a speech. I then did some study and visited the John Byrne forum for a bit of a giggle.
so what have you been up to?
Link: and in other news....
Well yesterday I woke up hungover and late for work so I promptly decided to go back to sleep.
Once properly rested I drank tea and waited for the evening to come back and once it did I drank ale and watched cool films with friends.
Today I will be mostly eating a pub lunch, going to charity shops and watching this weeks and last weeks Doctor Who. Sounds like it will be splendid : )
Yesterday I went for a walk and saw sheep and horses in the same field!
Yesterday I was on my own at work (as I have been for three days) and as I had finished everything I had to do I spent the day watching Mad Max:Beyond Thunderdome, Dirty Harry and the Star Wars Episode 3 extras disc.
I only had to answer the phone 4 times all day and spent the rest of the time on the net.
I got up, slobbed in front of the net for half an hour, went for a three hour walk through the backroads and secret paths of local villages. Chatted briefly to a south Afircan and an old lady on the way.
Stopped to look through the graveyard of the old mental hospital where numerous poor souls were
burried in unmarked graves.
Stopped to buy some fruit, on my walk, just eaten the cherries but am working on a fruit punch for this evening.
Have to take someone to the local cemetary this afternoon, so lots of graveyard based activities on this thread.
Might have a nap this afternoon, do some writing with some breaks to sort out and tidy up.
Doctor Who tonight, possibly coinciding with my punch tasting. Might get a bit of vodka for it beforehand (anyone in the area is welcome to come and sample it :p).
Tonight, have my turn on Urban Dead.
More writing hopefully.
Tomorrow get up early for the boot fair.
PVS's day sounds quite poetic.
Gary's sounds prophetic; what does this omen mean?
Took the boy to see Ice Age II.
He enjoyed it lots and it's not a bad film.
Maybe take him swimming later today before I head out for a meal and get drunk.
Been to Ely to a craft and French market which was nice. Then Tescos now back home and watching Sink the Bismark on dvd.
Bit of writing, and hopefully work out the problems I'm having with the chapter order; bit of surfing (of the net variety); some sitting out in the garden seeing as it's a nice day with a cup of tea and Case Files 2 (first time I've read either Cursed Earth or Day the Law Died, they rock!!); and then Doctor Who and a chicken curry later in the day.
Got up at quarter to seven and planted french beans, squash and sweetpeas. Drank loads of strong coffee and had two bacon rolls one with egg. Driving my monster truck into town this aft. to buy saturday night beers. Ah the crazy hedonism of the weekend!
Got up late after playing Rome:totalwar till 6 in the morning, fed my turtles chickens hearts, hung out with wife, visited folks, whilst there taut younger sisters the finer points of chess ( well, how to take lots of pieces and not worry about the actual POINT of the game! ) watched tv, now typing on keyboard while wife dozes behind me on the couch.
Got up at about eleven (having - as usual - worked until after 4 in the morning). Check the e-mail. Decided against buying a Rolex watch or Finally posted my home-made Dredd advert on www.YouTube.com (see below!). Mowed the lawn. Played with the cat. Browsed the web while doing my best to avoid any Doctor Who spoilers. Converted my cassette version of
The Day the Law Died to MP3 files. Posted this message.

Converted my cassette version of The Day the Law Died to MP3 files
That's something I've been meaing to do for ages, but can never be bothered when it comes to it. I bought that and Apocalypse War on cassette and really regret not getting them CD.
Grocery shopping.
Housework.
(It's a rock & roll lifestyle for me!)
Off to the pub as soon as I've had a shower.
Back from the pub in time to prepare a Thai Red Curry before Dr Who.
Rest of the evening listening to music, chatting and consuming copious amouts of gin and tonic.
Oh, yes.
Cheers!
Jim
Mike, that vid is top!
I've done the ususal morning run around after the kids, then I got a bit of drawing done while the washing machine did it's thing.
I'm about to collect Dan from his Saturday job then it'll be setting the video for Dr Who before going out for a 40th birthday.

Not much done today, although yesterday I was at a family reunion.
Sadly we had reunited to bury my older brother.
Got up late, had a bath, went into london and had lunch in russell square gardens ( sarnie and a bottle of water ) then went to a philosophy debate about anger.
Had coffee and pastry during the break and spoke to some greek lady called angelina who says all her daughters friends say 'angelina ballerina', went back to debate, went to pub after debate and chatted with folk.
Gave young richard my email addy so can advise him about a philosophy site, gave liz my phone number as she fancies coming to holland park opera to see merry widow ( she went there last year ) with me and older richard. Got train home, watched a bit about vivaldi with charlie hazlewood, now watching bbc4 four seasons thing which is a bit classic fmish BUT bbc4 has great digital sound.
came on here to post about gilgamesh
Condolences, Ratty.
And condolences from me too, ratty.
>playing Rome:totalwar till 6 in the morning
Yeah, I've been there... though it's not quite as bad as my 48hr session with Medieval.
Condolences Ratty.
Today at work when I was left alone whilst other staff members went out I sorted ou the laundry, made the beds, prepared lunch, assisted the ladies with lunch and their mid morning drinks, scrubbed the bath, bleached the loos, did some paperwork, hacked the ivy away from the wall it was growing on, tidied the garden waste away that was left by someone else, talked with the ladies, attempted to fix a chair, arranged to stay late to assist with the situation caused by anothers illness and then sat down for 5 minutes to read the two pages I had left of a chapter in the book I was reading on the bus. Guess what point my boss walked in? There;ll be trouble ahead.
Apart from work I've read 100 pages of a Doctor Who novel, watched Who, played Urban Dead, spoken with my girlfriend, visited Feel the Byrne!, mooched around the net, perpetrated an unfunny prank on an enemy, had a curry and an apple pie, moved some manure bags for an elderly lady (me mam, actually), done some laundry, cried out of going to the pub, and generally had a full and quite satisfying day.
Didn't visit a cemetry because time didn't allow on my walk earlier but I'm thinking of going on a guided tour of one on Wednesday.
I got off to a very slow start. Observed that 3 of our hundreds of strawberries are ripe enough to pick. I'll get 'em tomorrow.
A goth picnic was arranged in the park for 5 o'clock via the website of a club I go to. We had planned to go along - didn't know how many would be there, but there were thirty of us as it turned out. Most of them really did prepare for a picnic, which was nice, and didn't just bring beer. We stayed for 3 hours, and I quite forgot about all my morbid preoccupations (yes, my career) and I remain cheerful even now. At least five of them I'd met before, and most of the others I recognised and some I knew their names. Met a bunch more of them than I had before. I expect another picnic will be called for July. It was certainly easier to get to know people than in a noisy club where people are hunched around tables with their own group of friends.
Much better and a bigger crowd than I expected.
Doctor Who recorded for viewing tomorrow.
Condolences Ratty.
Yesterday was spot on. It started badly when I overslept due to the obligatory weekend hangover and the fact that I had to work on such a nice day didn't help! But the pub cricket team had a game on, so free sandwiches were had. One of our regulars was turning 50, so I made Pimms'n'Goodness(tm) and got to play hostess for a bit. Got out of work and escaped to the skate park where many fine people were cooking BBQ and being entertained by some marvellous dj friends, while more people fell off of skateboards in the background. Missed half of Dr Who. Didn't mind so much after watching the remaining half. Returned to the pub to watch a friend's band get horribly drunk and confuse all the customers with their unique comedy-punk stylings and retired to chez Tanky for leafy combustibles and fun with fire staffs. What a nice day. Today's my dad's birthday, so more BBQing later, then I might go to the bandstand for some indie action.
Happy weekend, boarders! xTGx
Got up early-sh. Pre 9am. Took my bike out for a cycle on a lovely south coast day (again part of Slips get fit campaign). Came home had brekkie with wife and children.
Cleared out garage, as Im in the process of moving house, for most of the afternoon. Collected my work shirts and suits from the ironing and dry cleaning lady (for work), did some food shopping as well. Cooked whole prawns, cod and monkfish with paprika and sweet chilli seasoning; served with herb salad and new potatoes.
Watched Dr Who drunk cider & vodka then went to bed happily drunk!
Yer Slips
Thank you all.
Condolences, Ratty.
I had a birthday yesterday (I only get one a year); ate baccalao with the missus and a couple of friends, drank wine and a dribble of Laphroaig, read some of The Goon, watched a few episodes of Dr. Who (I'm finally up to date), packed bags for a trip to the south of Norway later today and finished planning a trip to the north for later in the summer. Hardly went outside all weekend though, as it's been pissing it down.
Terrible news Ratty.
I got The Alan Moore tpb for Fadders day, which was nice.
