inspired by the RIP thread, I thought I'd start a thread for people who are not RIP but happily still alive. Unfortunately, the only example I can think of is Gough Whitlam, Australia's greatest ever PM who just had his 90th birthday. Which won't mean much to you non-Aussies.
Captain Beefheart.
Les Paul. Designer of my favourite guitar of all time and still performing at 91, despite only two fingers on his left hand being able to move.
Patrick Moore, he rocks! The Sky at Night is the longest running TV show, and Patrick is someone with real enthusiasm for his chosen field. Always up for a laugh at his own expense, he's appeared in programs as diverse as The Goodies, Gamesmaster and Big Brother. He truly is a bloody marvel and makes me proud to be British. Huzzah!
Harry Harrison... the Stainless Steel Rat author is still a regular on the convention circuit at 81.
Nice to see Patrick Moore slagging off the new London Planetarium show in the paper at the weekend
I cant believe Les Paul is still alive! and (relatively) well! That's great! :)
I could have sworn Harry Harrison was dead...that's great news that he isn't. I once drove from Melbourne to Perth (which takes six full days driving) just to see him and he was terrific, very funny and wise
Saw him at a convention last year and just couldnt bring myself to get an autograph- just felt too stupid
My Dad and Mum!!
Huffs mum and dad.
2000ad
Kylie Minogue, who although not old, hasn't died of breat cancer.
thats a bit of a rubbish thread its the
" theyre nearly dead or ancient but we like them anyway thread "
I'm just very thankful we're all here, cos you never know when that proverbial bus will run ye over, And if it comes for me today i'll be REALLY fucked off.
Kylie.
well judging by her picture, Ms Minogue is so far from nearly dead or ancient as to be almost unborn. Her retelling of Little Red Riding Hood seems more interesting than Angela Carter's.
I'm glad the United Nations is still with us
Queen Firey Bou!
Haven't heard much from you anyway, how are you?
