I should probably say that I don't find alcoholics inherently funny. Several alcoholics and alcoholic deaths in the family will do that to you.

I'd prefer if Hasselhoff was just making a buffoon of himself off the sauce, as he seemed affable and willing to poke fun at himself in interviews. He does seem harmless - and aware of how ridiculous he is.

I didn't realise the bloke was an alcoholic, to be honest. If it makes you feel any better, it's the buffoonery that appealed to me- alcohol induced or not.
