Title: Site Maintenance
Post by: Cyber-Matt on 12 September, 2006, 08:58:23 PM
The website will be undergoing a few tweaks over the next forty-eight hours - Zragian nullifiers added, server displacement engines oiled - so if you experience any temporal shifts when viewing it, fear not, it won't be permanent.

Thank yew for your patience, Terrans.

I've decided to try and get the message board back on it's feet. Please be aware that various links on the site will still take you to a phpMyAdmin login screen which you should ignore. I'll post here when that's fixed.

Cheers,

Wake

Hooray for Wake.

You probably already know this, but when you click on the title of a multi-page thread you get an error. Clicking on an individual page number works fine.

I think I've just fixed that. The SQL version on the new server didn't like being asked to display messages 0 to -1.

Cheers,

Wake

However...there is a little oddness going on. The thread I just started was duplicated (probably my fault) but the content of the message was also added to THREAD ZERO which is...odd.

Panic over, then?  The prospect of a few more days cold turkey was horrifying - well done all to get this place back on it's feet!

Since last night. It would appaer that most of the links/entries that are listed when I google '2000AD online' are now coming up forbidden/ restricted areas .

Another words the only way I can get to this page is only becuase I still have it downloaded from last night.

Thryllseekyr - Wake posted this on the 2000ad review forum
www.2000adonline.com is now giving a 'forbidden' error but you can reach the site at http://mysql.rebellion.co.uk/~twothousand/ and the message board at http://mysql.rebellion.co.uk/~twothousand/...ge=messageindex until it gets sorted.

That's the only i (and id hesitate to guess a fair few others) were able to get as well.
Cheers,
Rob.

Oh thanks for that. I do recall reading that bit when I noticed that I could re-access the site yesterday morning.

Now I can't, but I'll just see if that link works for future referance.

so some parts of the site are still down? I can't get to competitioons without a log in (admin?) page coming up. And most of the non message board icon pics are the little white box with cross in corner.

Yeah, I still can't get the front pages to enlarge any of the covers shown. Neither can I get to a specific Prog number.

I guess haveing to use the links from another site is a good way to keep dinosaurs out.

Now that the domain handlers have stopped faffin' around everything should work as Tharg intended. Sorry for the downtime, but it was a necessary evil, and hopefully the server will be running faster than before.

Actually it's really, really slow on my machine here - not as fast as it used to be...

Don't know if it's just me, but the Thrill Profile pages don't seem to be working. Summary comes up okay but, if you click to see all the stories you just get a blank page.

It might just be me but the site doesn't appear to be showing the most recent threads correctly.

I use the summary screen and I can see an item dated 22nd September as showing as the most recent thing in, say, General, but when I go into General, there's been loads of more recent postings.

Post by: Dog Deever on 26 September, 2006, 11:31:09 PM
Threads seem to change around within topics even though  there are no new posts. The Icons change slowly, but there are no new posts. I imagine that they're somehow 'catching up' with something. But, that's mainly because I know bugger-all about computers: they work by magic!
I'm sure it will sort itself out eventually.
