£4.32.
no...i'm not...i just prefer Friday to Rogue (not the bulk of friday fighting on earth with rubbish flat top hair do) but the later stuff...up to where they went through t' wormhole.
If wanted to read stuff like Rogue i'd start reading commando comics again.

Now keep calm. There will be a van coming to you're house soon filled with nice young men in clean white coats.
I quite liked Friday too, but then again I also enjoyed Maniac5. MAybe we should turn this into another confessions thread, you know the strips you enjoy but you know your ab=gainstthe majority, speaking of which I also didn't mind the Stront stories invoilving that Professor Alphabet dude and Feral/FEar-all/Firefall?

ahh here we see classic after effects of reading the recent prog,i would say.
drumgaint as a squaxx whom has just returned to the fold after a long absence you should take a lie down after reading a single prog.
you are suffering from a thrill power overload,
in a day or two you will look back at this thread and likely change your user name.
until then, keep warm and drink plenty of fliuds.
I thought the first Fr1day story (The War Machine) made for a decent one-shotâ??a neat alternative take on the character. However, almost everything that followed was utterly dire. Perhaps the only exceptions for me were John Smith's scripts, although these appeared to take place in a far more violent and bizarre universe than the other Fr1day stories. The biggest error, though, had to be the gradual merge with the original continuity. If readers were so up in arms about the lack of bio-chips, the editors should have just done what Matt did recently and brought back the original, not tried to make Fr1day into the original.
I really enjoyed the Fr1days with Steve White scripts + Steve Tappin/Henry Flint art. But I don't see the need to bring him back for more. 86ers is fun for now, or maybe it's time for an entirely new future war series?
actually... i'm not an older squaxx returned to the fold... i'm a younger one who's only been reading SINCE Friday was merged into the old continuity, and i think my point is, that i prefered that version because i think it was going for a wider story rather than, like i say, the old format, which is being kind of repeated in current rogue stories, which runs like Commando comics or simply comics as they were when Rogue started.
I don't think i'm making any sense. bum.
anyway...Simon Frasier's drawing Nikolai Dante again...hooray! Does that mean it might stop being shit and find it's way again?
Can you really blame an artist of John Burns' calibre for a story 'losing it's way'? Both Simon Fraser and John Burns are fantastic artists- take a look back at some of Burn's work across his protracted outing on Dante and there are a great many truly remarkable panels which can stand alone as works of brilliance in their own right.
Surely if a story loses it's way, seems like the character is arsing around and the plot marking time then it is at the very least half the writers fault. I'm sure I read somewhere here that there is a plan to wrap up the character soon. Perhaps Robbie Morrison has run out of adventures for Dante/ become bored of the character/ feels that Dante has reached it's natural lifespan and doesn't want to cheapen him by going on and on. (Delete as applicable). Still, maybe Burns will get another story and we can have both of them in the same prog- or perhaps another Bendatti Vendetta is planned for the Meg.
Oops sorry, drifted off topic.
Friday was pish.
ah, i wasn't suggesting that it was Burns' fault for it losing it's way, more that i'm excited about Simon Frasier being back in the saddle...
as for wrapping it up...they should have done that when Jena's sister got killed...everything after that was pretty dull...in my opinion.
Hey...as long as i'm making suggestions that demonstrate my total lack of synchronicity in taste with every one else; i was reading old megazines with the Holocaust squadd the other day, and maybe it's because there was a 16 year old part of my brain coming back to life, but, i kind of liked it as a concept...plus it kind of had a visual comedy that seems to represent the Mega City world to me...
oh...and i re read witch world and i liked it (you know...as long as i'm going to be an outcast...)
I thought Friday was okay till it tried to tie in continuity to olde rouge.
Now, where do you stand on Chronos Carnival, eh?
First Fr1day story was brilliant. One of the best 2000AD stories ever. Things went downhill from there though...
"Now, where do you stand on Chronos Carnival, eh?"
On its throat until it stops breathing.
I dont know who Friday is, but dont bring ROGUE BACK!
Im gonna get lynched for this, but...
ive never been a fan of Rogue Trooper. Or Fr1day for that matter.
The only Rogue story i ever really liked was one of the Alan Moore ones. The one with the old GI waiting to die, that had Redondo on art duties.
And that was mainly due to Redondo...
Dont know what it is about Rogue, i just find him dull!
Now Tor Cyan, on the other hand, could have really gone somewhere!
what!!!??? rogue is by far among the top 5 characters ever to grace the pages of 2000ad! i dont know tharg was thinking when he swapped him for friday!!! friday is rubish! it is down on the list with big Dave and babe race 2000!
your crazy!!!
Big Dave was pretty funny in the beginning.
yeh it was but then it went to far by having him fighting with that dude in lava
