With the recent update to the 2000AD Books website, the schedule for the next 5 months is looking fairly solid, but what would you like to see the reprint line turn to next? Fire your suggestions up here - all welcome, whether they're picks for future collections in existing series, a favourite you'd like to see reprinted or just a completely impractical-but-fantastic deluxe collection (a Dredd version of Garth Marenghi's "The Ouevre", complete with reading supports?)

Any more suggestions?
The complete Canon
canon fodder 1
canon fodder 2
plus covers
all wrapped in a new chris weston cover
i'ld buy 3 ;)
also a complete zenith would be nice but no chance of that happening
I think I want a corrected reprint of Devlin Waugh vol. 2 along with that volume 3.
Zenith in two volumes would be nice.
Complete Al's Baby, Complete Stainless Steel Rat, Major Eazy (and why not)...
Robo-Hunter vol. 4 would be very nice, too!
METALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOIC
METALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOIC
METALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOICMETALZOICMETALCOIC
Or Metalzoic even.
Dunno what the funk appened there.
I'd definitely like to see the Jock collection, although I'm happy for Dante to be "rested" for a year after Tsar Wars vol. 2 is out.
The series I'd still like to see in some form is Luke Kirby (which I was once told might appear as an EE at some point, but I'd much prefer a trade).
The Satanistâ??Metalzoic is a DC property, so I doubt Rebellion will touch it with a barge-pole.
:: Robo-Hunter vol. 4 would be very nice, too!
Not least because it would totally tie up the series. However, I don't think a fourth volume is currently scheduled, sadly.
Agree with most of Amstors suggestions, but I'd like to add:
Dredd:
The Complete Taxidermist
The Complete America
Mandroid
The Complete Mechanismo
Dead Ringer
Lawcon
More Anthology titles in the vein of 'Kenny Who?':(Mad City, Simple Domestic, Fast Food, La Placa Rifa, First Of The Many, Bury my knee at wounded heart, Howler, Awayday, Death Of A Legend, In The Year 2120, No More Jimmy Deans, Termination With Extreme Prejudice, Slow Crime Day, Citizen Sump, Out Of The Undercity etc
Savage (to see if its as good as people say)
Button Man: Books 2-4
Strontium Dog: The Kreelman Conspiracy
Atavar: Book 3
Shakara: Book 2
The scheduled line up for next year (Origins, Stront Case Files et al) is already looking awesome - couldn't have picked a better one myself, and I will likely be buying (choke) all of them.
"More Anthology titles in the vein of 'Kenny Who?'"
The idea is that they're artist specific - so hence the upcoming Frazer Irving and Carlos Ezquerra volumes. I suspect that if a Henry Flint book is put together, it'd probably just feature his Dredd work (maybe Low Life as well?), but it'd be nice to see his Alien Invasions strips collected.
As well as those mentioned above:
Ace Garp: Case Files
Complete Armoured Gideon
Complete Revere
For various reasons I can't see Luke Kirby happening any time soon.
Dante shouldn't be rested, they should plough through the books. It'd help regain reputation and bring new readers up to scratch.
I'd like more Sin Dex, and how about taking the Dredd out of the Elson collection and adding Atavar 3? Not enough for a book of it's own and saves rereleasing 1 and 2.
Complete VCs V1.0
Complete VCs V2.0
Are you people forgetting Necropolis...
from Oz to Necropolis itself would be great
Wasn't an ACE Trucking collection mentioned in one of the end-of-year progs? From what I understand, a Revere trade is extremely unlikely, but Armoured Gideon would make a neat chunky volume.
DavidXBruntâ??I'm aware a Kirby collection isn't likely to happen, but, hey, this thread's about what you want, not what you think will appear. As for Dante, I think the end of Tsar Wars wraps up the first 'block' nicely, and I'd just prefer to see other stuff for a while.
The first ACE Trucking trade was supposed to appear this year, I think, but IIRC the announcement in the prog was made before the Rebellion/DC collections came to an end (or it could have been before Jon took over, I don't recall exactly) and as such I expect certain books were moved off the schedule, even if only temporarily.
From what I understand, a Revere trade is extremely unlikely
Meaning?
Is it still up for EE treatment? All 3 parts would make a nice trade.
I suppose the 'problem' with Gideon is that it's both b/w, and colour.
I don't think there's enough Taxidermist material for a trade, actually, but it'd make a great EE. I finally got to read all of "Return" this summer, and part three, with Agnes "Lazer Gaze" Bolton hard at work, is the funniest thing ever drawn. An Otto Sump collection would also be great.
I do want the Case Files to continue when they hit the beginning of the color stories in 1989 and will happily pay for thinner editions. Just as long as we're not losing the centerspreads in the gutter, something between the size of The Art of Kenny Who? and Case Files 03 would be just fine by me!!
(I am hoping that my lost Bec & Kawl and Realpolitik books will be waiting for me at my shop this weekend... :-( )
Future Shocks et al from the beginning, not just Alan Moores
Harry on the High Rock
I would love a hardback of this (to go with my other GFD fave, Fiends of the Eastern Front).
Must be worth it for the Alan Davis fans surely?
Harry on the High Rock
That's a *brilliant* suggestion.
Even better if Alan could be persuaded to do some new cover art for it. :)
Strontium Dog: The Kreeler Conspiracy (178 pages)
The Kreeler Conspiracy
The Sad Case
Roadhouse
Strontium Dog: Traitor to his Kind (180 pages)
The Tax Dodge
The Headly Foot Job
Traitor to his Kind
Shaggy Dog Story
Judge Dredd: The Pit (191 pages)
The Pit
True Grot
Unjudicial Liasons
Last Rites
Declaration of War
Bongo War
Judge Dredd: Beyond the Call of Duty (138 pages)
The Cal Files
Beyond the Call of Duty
Sleaze
The Scorpion Dance
A Dredd: Democracy Now! collection and a Complete America would be nice as well.
Harry on the High Rock
"That's a *brilliant* suggestion."
All modesty aside, yes, yes it is.
As previouslty suggested
Ace Trucking case file would be an absolute must!
Also the original Mean Arena (with artwork by Bradbury and Dillon - superb)
Meltdown Man (goes with out saying really but...)
Return to Armageddon
Skizz
Flesh - couple of hardbacks with new cover artwork (droool)
Cheers,
Rob.
Definitely Ace Garp.
The main thing I'd like to see is more stuff from the Megazine reprinted, particularly the Dredd stories. I think Rebellion are missing a trick here: on the assumption that only half the 2000AD readers also get the Meg, then there's a ready made audience for genuine, unseen Wagner Dredd.
I'm not keen on artist-specific collections, as you end up with either multiple reprints of the same strip and/or stuff that never sees the light of day.
I'd definitely snap up a Harry 20 EE, but I don't think I'd stretch to a TPB. The rule of thumb here is: if the reprint costs less than the bus fare back to my mum's then it's worth it!
Some of the Crisis stuff would be interesting although is that all creator owned?
Skizz has been reprinted twice recently, or do you mean books two and three?
'A Dredd: Democracy Now! collection and a Complete America would be nice as well.'
If you ask me, a complete Necropolis would ideally collect all relevant stories from 'Revolution' right up to 'Twilights Last Gleaming' over two monster volumes.
I've just finished reading the *whole* thing for the first time ever, and I think the whole epic works much better if bookended by the Democracy stories.
So:
Necropolis Book One - The Dead Man:
Revolution
Bloodline
The Shooting Match
Young Giant
A Letter to Judge Dredd
The Dead Man
Tale Of The Dead Man
By Lethal Injection
Rights Of Ascension
Dear Annie
Necropolis Book Two - City Of The Dead:
Necropolis
Theatre Of Death
Nightmares
Better the Devil You Know
Twilights Last Gleaming
Return Of The King
I know Necropolis has had it's fair share of reprinting, but IMO it's never been done justice.
Meltdown Man! - Unlikely what with the EE, but just imagine it as a chunky trade with that picture Massimo did a little while ago as the cover. Luvvverly.
Armoured Gideon - There's a part of me that is convinced that if I harp on about a Gideon trade on the board for long enough, Jon will finally bow to fan pressure and release the trade.
Robo-Hunter 4 - Would do very nicely, thank you. Never read this before, so catching up with the trades has been a lovely expierience - but knowing there's only one book to go to finish off the series is agonising when there's no immediate sign of said book.
Ace Trucking - Criminally neglected.
Atavar - I loved it, even if no-one else did. Release all three books in one trade, with a new cover.
Dredd: America and The Pit - Two Dredd classic epics I've heard a lot about but never had a chance to read.
Sin/Dex: Eurocrash - At least gives their trades a bit of an 'end', and once again, I've heard a lot of good things about this but never read it.
ABC Warriors: Kronicles, Hellbringer, Return to Mars and Shadow Warriors - I know the Kev Walker series have their detractors, but his art on those deserves the trade treatment. It'd look gorgeous on the current paper stock. Same goes for Henry Flint's art on the last two. A shadow Warriors collection especially would be awesome... with a new Flint cover...?
Classic Slaine - A distinct likelihood what with the announcment of Time Killer. It's very hard to know what's going on sometimes with this saga, and I reckon it really needs to be read in order, from the beginning. Plus Glenn Fabry and Belardinelli artwork, slurp.
Oh yeah, and the rest of the Nemesis books.
Judge Dredd - Purgatory and Inferno all in one book.
For the art by Carlos obviously....
Harry Tweny has been reprinted an awful lot, via Quality Comics, Best of 2000AD and The Megazine (not that long ago). It doesn't (to my mind) warrent an Extreme Edition for those reasons, but does deserve a luxury release for a change.
It remains a great one off story, and as some of Alan Davis first work it must have appeal beyond 2000AD fans.
If I could vote for just one book it would be this one.
'I don't think there's enough Taxidermist material for a trade, actually, but it'd make a great EE'
The Taxidermist feat Judge Dredd:
The Taxidermist 4 episodes (Progs 507 to 510) 26 pages
Return of the Taxidermist 10 episodes (Megs 2.37 to 2.46) 80 pages
Revenge of the Taxidermist 3 episodes (Progs 1087 to 1089) 18 pages
126 pages - Be a slim(ish) one, but definately worth it IMO. One of Wagner's funniest ever scripts, with wonderful Gibson art.
Also, on a related note, am I the only one who actually quite liked 'I was a teenage tax consultant'? EE it!
Obviously, I meant 124 pages.
The Stainless Steel Rat
Ace Garp, early Dan Dare (not likely I know!) Chopper (enough for a big TPB?)
Button Man, Al's Baby
Lets at least have english version reprints of the foreign language TPB's!!!!!!
"Also, on a related note, am I the only one who actually quite liked 'I was a teenage tax consultant'? EE it!"
Not the only one buddy. Twas brilliant!
:: Meaning? Is it still up for EE treatment?
Last I heard, it was being scanned/cleaned for an EE, but the chances of a trade were slim-to-none.
Ace Trucking
Stainless Steel Rat
VCs all
Invasion all
Chopper
I like IWATTC too!
That's because you WERE a... (etc)
I like IWATTC- gloriously daft, with top notch artwork. I only read it fairly recently, after catching up on some missing progs. Once again, the main strength in 2k is it's diversity. It's also a strength of this message board too, conformity is not required, and you don't get flamed out of existence for holding opinions differing from the majority (unless you're a Sc*** sockpuppet!). There must be a link there somewhere...
What about the original Mean Arena in a TPB? I know it went on past it's sell by date a bit, but there were some good ideas in there. I lost one of my front teeth at 14- playing our own version of this with a tennis ball. I was after the ball carrier, slipped on ice and went face first into a kerb, smashing my tooth into a zillion pieces and splitting my chin open- so Mean Arena will always hold a place in my face (if not my heart!) in the form of a Maryland bridge!
I was thinking if complete Slaine Case Files aren't going to be done, then the Complete Slaine Scrolls should be done instead.
A much better fitting name for it.
Another vote for the non-Moore Future Shocks / Time Twisters / Ro-Jaws Robo Tales here (oh, and to include all the early Supercover Sagas too, please!)
The Complete Tooth Dan Dare would be nice, but is no doubt forever banished to the depths of Copyright Hell...
I would have thought Mean Arena better EE fodder than material for a trade. The same probably goes for a selection of non-Alan Moore Future Shocks, because they'd be a really tough sell in book form.
Bump
Time Flies?
.... Doh!
;-)
Naughty Dane! Heh heh.
Another vote for Metalzoic here. Genius, with added monkeys.
- Trout
Metalzoic's creator-owned though (I know the deal meant DC kept control for a certain amount of time, but I assume it's been out of print long enough for the rights to revert to Mills/O'Neil). Rebellion haven't printed many creator owned books (indeed, just one trade and one EE, in the form of Button Man and Al's Baby), so I imagine they might be reluctant to publish more with any frequency when they make less money from them.
Personally, I'd rather see Button Man book 2 print rather than Metalzoic, as I've never read it...and that's not at all because I already have the original Metalzoic DC trade and the b&w reprints in the progs...
A continuation of Anderson Psi, especially the Arthur Ranson stuff.
Put me down for Dredd, Pergatory and Inferno also and Zenith, if the legal problems can be sorted out.
How about Complete Ro Busters - The Disaster Files?
Include everything from Starlord and all the stories that were in the annuals, some lovely stuff from Alan Moore/Bryan Talbot/Steve Dillon IIRC.
