I'm willing but my shifts are a bit strange...
How about after the Cam Kennedy/ Alan Grant gig on Friday?

''Kidnapped gets graphic with Alan Grant and Cam Kennedy
Cam Kennedy and Alan Grant will discuss their new graphic novel of Robert Louis Stevenson's Kidnapped. Hear two of the sector's leading figures discuss the way the graphic narrative took shape and the challenges of adapting such a well-known book. Organised by Scottish Book Trust in conjunction with NLS.

Friday 2 February
19.00
Scottish Book Trust, Sandeman House, Trunk's Close, 55 High Street''

That's quite tempting Huff - I'll check with the missus and see if I'm allowed to come out after work.  I can probably swing it with the promise of some free books!

I take it you'll bve going along anyway?

Bah!

I'm going to have to trade one Scottish event for another.

It's our village ceilidh on Friday night so I'll be dusting off ma kilt, putting my bonniest lass on my arm and doing eightsoime reels.

Change of plan - ceilidh is actually on Saturday so I can actually make it along to this.

Just one question is at 7, as Huff says above or 6 as it said in today's Metro?

We should maybe go along at 6 and if early, go to the pub.

Grrr!  Event sold-out. Didn't realise it was free but ticketed.

So I won't be going along.

But given that I've been typing/talking to myself for the last four posts, that's probably not an issue...  ;¬)

It was free and in Scotland- of course it sold out!
Too far for me to go after work. It's a long (and shit) road south.

You should organise your own.

No fear of missing out then.

There's something that doesn't sound quite right about how it's set up.

It was supposed to be for free.

Though there were tickets that you need to obtain to show or give to someone at the door before being allowed to go in.

If these tickets were sold out, then anybody that missed out on receiving a ticket would be admitted.

Even though the show was meant to be free.

bah! had family domesticky things to sort out so couldn't go B-(

oh and the ticket thing is simply you phone or email before hand and put your name on a list, once the list is full thats it: sold out! having done a few of these, a tip is to go along early and ask for any cancellations then just hang about till it starts, normally you can be sqeezed in or get a unclaimed ticket, seconds before they close the doors!

sorry for not keeping up to date on this Tippy, how was the knees up?

It does sound like that there should be reservations for local regulars.
