If you fancy a nice slice of eighties fantasy (no, not like Wayne Rooney) then you could do worse than to nip down to your local Morrison's where you can pick up a triple pack DVD of Willow, Ladyhawke and Legend for the bargain price of £6-00.
Only one of them isn't better than HAWK THE SLAYER.
Tell you what, keep Willow and I'll give you a tenner for the rest.
H'mmm. I've never seen Willow or Legend and Ladyhawke's decent enough to watch on Channel 5.
Legend's a feast for the eyes, but makes very little sense.
Never seen Ladyhawke.
Willow... I should really post on the guilty pleasures thread, cause I find this movie quite fun- even though it's a blatant retread of the Star Wars plot from George.
Tell you what, keep Willow and I'll give you a tenner for the rest.
play.com have a Legend/Ladyhawke/Conan the Barbarian box set for a tenner, oddly enough.
Buy Hawk the Slayer instead
And Conan's had some minor trims for animal cruelty, iirc.
Bit too rough on Arnie?
"Conan! What is best in life?"
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women.
"Anything else Conan?"
The maiming of the animals.
Legend is great I have the three foot Darkness in the "Cinema Room" which speaks phrases from the movie.
I liked the Stuntmans answer to the Animal Cruelty in Conan where he said "Didn't you see a stuntman fall into the pungi sticks before the Horse?"
Anyone remember The Sword and The Sorceror? I loved that triple blade sword.
legend was ok but not enough fighting and a killing, willow was stomm and ladyhawke was lovely...one you can watch even now with the missus and i've always wanted to ride a horse in a cathederal(i hear manchester's is quite poular these days!) I do agree though hawk the slayer tops the lot
