Cant check in work but the Machete trailer is cracking.

"What have you done with my wife and daughter?"

:-D

But I still prefer the one for Thanksgiving.

Heh.  I was fortunate enough to catch the double-bill with all the trimmings a few weeks ago in a tiny cinema in NYC.  It's a shame they split Planet Terror and Deathproof; they made for a great evening's entertainment.  Planet Terror is so over the top it's ridiculous, with Deathproof providing a relatively calm second half.  That Machete trailer is fantastic, eh?  "Don't" was another goody.

I though Grindhouse was OK but the trailers and ads were let down by the features, especially 'Death Proof' which rumbled on for ages with little happening - and now I hear it's to be extended!

To chop up the film into two makes it an exercise in futility - they were made as 70 minute features with the 'missing reels' idea a way to fast-forward through some unnecessary exposition which presumably will now be reinstated.

'Planet Terror' with the machine gun leg was a lot more fun but 'Death Proof's release must be due to Tarrantino being more marketable than Rodriguez. A nice idea but there was no way they could sell a three hour scratchy film to the average cinema going Joe.

That's brilliant.

If only Danny Trejo(sp?) was a couple of feet taller- he's got the perfect chin to play Dredd.

The extended Deathproof mainly has the lapdance 'missing reel' as far as I'm aware.  Planet Terror was definitely the more fun of the two (jar full of balls, 'I broke my leg' gag, etc.) and I'd certainly be keen to see the full Machete experience!
