Well it's tiny, but what do people reckon? Meself, I can't make up my mind. I love the choice of music, but I'm not sold on Olyphant playing Hitman. I don't know how good an actor he is, but I just don't reckon he has the look.
Only found out about this film a couple of days ago and got quite excited about it. The trailer hasn't really added to the excitement but there's nothing in there that's put a downer on it either, so looks like it could swing either way.
i think Olyphant is a good actor but way wrong for 47, best person to play him i think is Jason Statham he has the look and more or less dressed like him in the two Transporter movies, i think the film is going to be a huge screw up
now watching the trailer he looks way gay in it with that bald head, it should be Statham
Why do people keep saying Statham? He may have the right look (i.e. a shaved head, and I know a quick way to fix that in the case of most other actors) but the man cannot act worth a damn. He can play one character type; Guy Ritchie cockney spivs. Anything else he tries is a disaster.
i disagree i think he is great as frank in the transporterand it is a similar character to 47 so thats why i think he should play him, who do you think should play him shutdown?
To be honest I can't think of anyone off the top of my head. I've spent so long saying it shouldn't be Statham that I've never really thought about who it should be....
Maybe Christian Bale. Great actor, right shape of face, and we know he can play a badass.
yeah that would be cool, Christian is one of my fave actors of today (also edward norton) he would be kickass as 47 and i admit alot better than Statham, Bale is one of the best of today i think, so yeah now i'll say it should have been Bale
I reckon so. Still, I've never seen Deadwood, so I don't know how good Olyphant is, so I'll wait and see what he's like in a trailer where he actually talks as 47. He doesn't look the part but maybe he can pull it off when he opens his mouth.
he dosn't really have the voice for it either, he also played mickey in "Scream 2", a cop in "Gone in 60 seconds", a drug dealer in "GO" but no i think his voice is far too "soft" when 47 has a deep voice, Bale would be better
ahh, Seth Bullock didnt recognise hime with out the hair and tash
I think hes a good actor, he was my favourite character in Go, but was a bit of a wimpy serial killer in Scream 2. Her off Roseanne was far scarier : )
Ooh, can I be the first to say I thought this was a Tommy Monaghan film and I was pretty disappointed when I found it otherwise? Never could get into the game, so maybe I've missed the part about him being a force for good. I just thought he was a bad motherfucker who got paid to fuck guys up.
Totally didn't recognise Seth either. Frank from The Transporter would stomp this guy no problem.
Actually, having just watched The Fountain again, it occured to me that maybe Hugh Jackman would make a good 47. It was seeing him bald that tipped me off, but he's a damn good actor....
Since when was Hitman a "force for good"? What is the point of adapting an established character for a film and then totally changing the concept of the character? Do they think we won't want to watch it unless the Hitman is some kind of hero? Bollocks.
Well, he could just about be considered a force for good because the people he fucks up are mostly baddies. Having said that, he does only do it for the dosh.
"Protected by divinity" is the bit I take issue with. As I recall, 47 stomped away from the Church in a bit of a huff at the end of Hitman 2 and didn't look back.
A far better story would be the actual story of the games, with 47 nipping about trying to work out who he is/should be.
Link: Hitman
Haven't seen it yet, but early reviews are mostly pants. Empire gave it one out of five.
From reading the plot summary, I don't know why they had to go with the pretty standard "hitman betrayed by employers, goes after them" story. Why couldn't they stick closer to the games (from what I remember of them anyway) and just have 47 be a badass taking money to kill people?
Hitman: Blood Money is best game of all.... lots of twists I didnt expected in it!
How to blend in with the crowd as a Hitman.
Lesson 1:- Have a shiny bald head.
Lesson 2:- Have a bar code on the dack of that shiny bald head.
Saw it today and wasn't impressed. Not especially bad but nothing to recommend it. The lead lacked charisma and sympathy and the plot, as it was, was wafer thin. Dougray Scott calls his a 'ghost' - as Commando says a ghost with a baldy head, bar code and bright red tie.
The laughable secret cabal of hitmen looked ridiculous fighting in a train car - it was like a rukus at a Right Said Fred fan club meeting.
It gains an extra star for some female nakedness and decent locations, but sadly that makes it's total a weedy 2/5.
Also saw 'FRED CLAUS' which is possibly the worst piece of mawkish sentimental shite that I've seen all year. The conclusion that there are no naughty kids, only ones who've had a bad break must be comforting for everyone who's ever had a shite alight left on their doorstep.
Also saw 'THE NINES' and if anyone can explain it with any degree of certainty for me I'd be grateful.
I saw this over the weekend, and it was more or less what I expected. It teetered on the edge of the "so bad it's good" category. The story made little to no sense and some of the acting was absolute pants, but it was good for a few laughs at least, and some of the action was half decent. I didn't the subway car fight was that bad, apart from Olyphant's "squeeeeeeeeeeze" facial expressions, it was at least a fairly painful looking scrap.
As one other review pointed out, 47's voiceover explains that he works for an agency of hitmen so secret that no-one even knows they exist........... so who the fuck hires them?
