Apologies for yet another Who thread, but I couldn't find the relevant old thread. Here's something that occurred to me:
1. David Tennant's Doctor is about to have an adventure on board the Titanic.
2. In the first "New Who" episode ("Rose"), crazy conspiracy theory web-geek Clive mentions that Christopher Eccleston's Doctor was spotted on board the Titanic, amongst other places.
So, what's the chances of a cameo from Eccleston in the new ep? Probably bugger all, but even if he was just hanging around in the background, that would be a pretty cool nod to continuity. Bet they forget...
Also, here's a nice, relevant picture which coincidentally shows Kylie flashing a bit of leg:
Noisy- didn't he stop a family from getting onboard rather than actually take the voyage?
Would be nice though, if at one point Tennant grabbed a newspaper and covered his face with it as Ecclestone walked by.
Actually- I wonder if this is something that should have happened already, a la the five doctors but more low key.
Bolt-01- wearing his nerd hat.
I've been saying for ages now that they should bring Eccles back for a crossover.
The Xmas one seems like as good a way as any.
As was said EcclesDoc saved a family from sailing on the Titanic. There was a photo of him by the docks. Nothing to say he was actually on-board.
Now the Seventh Doctor is a different matter entirely, as he ended up there at the conclusion of The Left Handed Hummingbird by Kate Orman back in '93...
Anyway, they might not be on the real Titanic.
"Anyway, they might not be on the real Titanic."
You don't mean it could be The Titanic...in space...in the year 5 trillion do you?
It's likely - I mean, the year 5 trillion, not so different from now is it?
I mean KylieXBrunt is playing a character called Astrid, which sounds like an annagramatical projection to me, could it all be a dream?
You don't mean she could secretly be...

Might she be Astrid O'Beast?
i'm sure the sun said kylie would be a cyberwoman'glad that didn't happen(torchwood anyone?)
What does concern me is where is he going to get that hole in the tardis fixed? not like he can nip back to gallifrey is it?
the arse-exposing qualities of the cyberwoman suit would be perfect for Kylie. Also the acting required is wooden and emotionless
wooden and emotionless? she was in neighbours, it will be like she never left!
> What does concern me is where is he going to get that hole in the tardis fixed? not like he can nip back to gallifrey is it?
Yes it is! He has a time machine!
I still don't get why he can't go back and stop the Time War that they keep wittering on about.
The TimeWar is one of the few unexpplained things in new Who I'm happy about - You have to presume a Time War is a war fought across and time - using evil tactics like sending tom Baker in to destroy you before you've even been 'born'.
You'll be creating all kinds of paradoxes and such that will eventually write you out of history - so much more final than a real war.
The Doctor presumably survived this by being the person who pressed the button that did the final wiping out on both sides, so is protected by some kind of paradox from not existing. how the Master still existing fits in I dont know, as hiding as a human isnt really defence against never having existed.
...as the Tardis has clearly been breached by 'a Titanic' i find it hard to beleive this will be the real Titanic, i think its going to be a future reconstruction that can time travel but has got tangled up in the Tardis' flight, or something...
...oh and everyone on board dresses in the original period costumes...
But if the Time War wiped out both sides from all continuity, why does every man and his dog remember the daleks or the Time Lords and wonder what happened to them?
Never mind that Tate bint- check out a very probable new Doctor...
Link: Ugh...
I hope that they don't spend ages having the Doctor agonising over whether or not he should save the Titanic from capsizing.
And I HOPE TO GOD that RTD doesn't work in some joke about "I'm the King of the World!!".
I'd like that for new who, and if that writer takes over maybe we'd get a more dark who for a bit.
I can just picture it...
'C'mon nauw lads... seddel down or yull git yer knees home in a spar baig, am i gonna haf ta get the bouys on till ya?'
Nesbitt was great in Jekyll I thought. He might pull it off as long as he doesn't overdo the zany thing.
Moffat taking over from Russell T Davis... apparently he wrote Blink and a couple of other episodes that were genuinely rather good. I think he could be a good replacement. I didn't dislike Davis as much as many do. He had some great ideas, but I think a some of his story resolutions sucked some rather large monkey bottom.
From today's Sun that somebody else at work was reading.
"i'm sure the sun said kylie would be a cyberwoman"
..which, if your curious would look something like this:
Link: Kylie all robot-like
She's my age you know.....
Even Sharon Stone didn't look that fit at 40.
Love Nesbitt and Moffat appears to have written nearly all of my favorite episodes. I think this may be some fan utopianist fantasy. I don't believe it.
Davies was ok, his set ups were magnificent but he always went with too much cloying schmaltz at the end. Whether I liked a Davies episode was decided by the below equation:
Awesome set-up - sentimental dreck ending / number of times I have to listen to the Doctor or his assistent pine after someone= good or merely tolerable.
...looks like im not going to be to far out from my 2nd Aug posting, but we'll wait and see for the full details on christmas day...
There's a lot of spoilers over at SFX in an interview...won't say more than that.
No doubt we've all seen the trailers now, but the description of Kyle's waitress character and the look of that giant Titanic in space remindered me of a certain other space waitress and the 'Glorybarge' from the mighty pen of Alan Moore...
you think Russell T Davies STOLE AN IDEA FROM SOMETHING?!
Holy crap - call the that-happens-every-time-he-opens-word police!
RTD had admitted to being a fan of 2k and used a max normal character in the last series.

here you go as seen in day 14 of the ADVENTure calender
Link: trailer!
Interesting....
Getting a bit tired of the robot mask villains though (Girl in the Fireplace Anyone?) Don't get me wrong they're suitably creepy and the the episode just mentioned was one of the good ones but it's a bit repetitve.
Never mind time will tell. I wonder if they borrowed that idea from a book I once read (The Starship Titanic by Terry Jones I believe... a sort of spin-off from Hitchhikers Guide, but by a different author.)
Lucky buggers. We've only got the first David Tennant episode on BBC Prime (BBC's overseas channel) for Xmas. Be a while before I see this one!

The novel of the game actually turned up on the Starship Titanic website, if I recall.
All the words had been arranged into alphabetical order, which was much more convenient...
"remindered me of a certain other space waitress and the 'Glorybarge' from the mighty pen of Alan Moore..."
Ace was a space waitress too.
all I can remember of Ace was the climb up the ropeladder...
Addledhuff
I saw Ace recently on a sing-along-children's show, it was weird.
It was confirmed on newsround today that a new version of the main theme will appear in the christmas special and will stay for the new series
