It's not based on a comic, it's based off the book I Am Legend, which is what The Omega Man was based off of.
All is revealed!!The shades have fallen etc,etc
It looked good on the big screen, honest Gov,
more to the point does anyone else have a washing machine that bleeps annoyingly when it wants attention? ggggrrr

Wasn't impressed by the comic book version at all -very dull looking- though the novel is great, the film seems overblown. The first film version "Last Man On Earth" had the right tone and scope but just not enough budget.
Far too early to tell whether this film will be the moronic, indulgent FX-Fest it threatens to be, although the pedigree of Will Smith/I Robot and Francis Lawrence/Constantine, doesn't bode well.
Looks like we've traded an experienced and visualy skilled Director (Ridley Scott) for a relatively inexperienced one, in place of an arguably better actor (Will Smith) In place of The Terminator himself( Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Still, I'm ready to eat my hat, as it's based on a book I dearly love.
I don't think Ridley Scott would fare much better with such material. He's too much for spectacle.
Stuff that - new extended Cloverfield trailer!

Yeah, but he sure paints some pretty pictures!
Also, he's tried and tested at Sci-Fi material.
Who'd you rather have......Michael Bay?
Still, Cronenberg could have made a decent stab at it.
***Who'd you rather have......Michael Bay? ***
Fuck that, I would never suggest Bay for anything. I'd rather see Guillermo del Toro or Alfonso Cuarón have a go.
