If anyone hasn't read the comics, *don't* read the comments on that YouTube page. Some cock-end has deliberately put massive spoilers there "for teh lulz".
read it - dont think its that good, like the thing with vampires and sub bill sienkiwich art(spelt totally wrong but hey).
Bill the Sandwich.
I didnt even know it was from a comic. What makes me take notice is Sam raimi directing . Not a fan of spiderman but i like all his other films.
Alas, he's not directing, as cool as that would be. He's just producing, so unsure how much involvement he'll have had. So far none of the other stuff he's produced has interested me enough to see(The Grudge remake, Boogeyman) so don't know how reliable he is in that capacity.
I think I read somewhere that the comic was originally written as a movie script that they then turned into the comic to drum up support to make a movie. Long way of doing things but it looks good, like how they seem to of kept tohe look of the Vampires and Melissa George..mmmmnnn.

Where can I find out more about this?
The internet
I haven't read the comics or anything, so I have no prior expectations on this, but just based on the trailer, I didn't think that looked particularly good. For one thing, the vampires looked crap, and Ben Foster trying to play the grizzled drifter who spouts cryptic scary lines "That cold ain't the weather........" Sorry, he sucks. And Josh Hartnett ain't up to much either. I'm sure I'll see it, but I have not been blown away yet.
Bill the Sandwich.
Or the Alec-verse version, Billy the Sink.
It's interesting how some characters in Eddie Campbell's auto-bio stuff get nicknames like The Man at the Crossroads (aka Paul Gravett), while others, such as Big Hairy Alan Moore (topically) Al Columbia have there proper names used.

Oh sweet Yaweh, would you just look at the grammar in that last post. Apologies, all.
Independent Scandinavian vampire flick Frostbitten is scripted around pretty much the same premise.
TBO I thought the first five(?) minutes were the best thing about it- a bit surprised and disappointed with the direction it went in after that, not at all what I was expecting.
Opens with a prologue just before the main titles in which some, IIRC Swedish volunteer stormtroopers are being pursued by the allies through snowdrifts and woodland at twilight. They take refuge in a remote cabin and- and so on.
Worth a look if you enjoy your schlock closer to teh Buffy, FDTD end of the scale.
Link: Dawn is just a month away..
Oh, I forgot to add I always thought Ben Templesmith's artwork bore a shade more resemblance to Barron Storey than Bill Sienkiewicz.
Accidently read the 'spoilers' in the comments section - you're joking, aren't you, Wils? That's not *really* how the story ends, is it? Lame.
Isn't the comic just based off 'Come the Dawn', an episode of Tales From The Crypt that starred Michael Ironside?
I saw that Frostbitt at a film festival here last year (I think I posted about it here at the time) and the opening scenes, reminiscent of Fiends of the Eastern Front, are indeed great, followed by a shift to the present day, and a rapid decline featuring crap vampires. Wot Bart sed, in fact.
While I'm here, Villmark (2003) is a decent, spooky, Norwegian film.
++ reminiscent of Fiends of the Eastern Front, ++
That's what I thought I was going to get ;)
The traler makes it look like a hybrid of The Thing, 28 Days Later and Blade.
Still, we shall see.
Also why does it seem that all trailers for Horror movies have to be accompanied by music from Muse/Radiohead or a Muse/Radiohead sound-a-like?
Curious. Is it an attempt to make it appear edgy and daring?
i think maybe Muse was used as a nod to David Slades' videos he did for them....i storyboarded a lot of his stuff and he's a top bloke...

I wish we could afford someone to storyboard our video's! Do you work for booze and veggie sausages?
